Former The Young and the Restless star Burgess Jenkins (ex-Billy Abbott) opens up about the health status of his wife, which was previously revealed to be the reason he walked away from the CBS soap last year.
Soap opera fans were shocked when The Young and the Restless' Burgess Jenkins (ex-Billy Abbott) decided to part ways with the CBS soap in the fall of 2015 and even more shocked when the real reason he walked away was later revealed: His wife, Ashlee, had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and he took time out of the spotlight to support her through the difficult time.
However, over the weekend, Jenkins took to Twitter to share some good news concerning Ashlee's health status. Along with a beautiful photo of the couple together, the actor wrote: "6 mos ago w grace, faith, humor & unending strength she put the gloves on & fought. Today shes cancer free #warrior"

As fans may recall, GH alum Jason Thompson (ex-Patrick Drake) stepped in to replace Jenkins after he left the soap in November of 2015. At this time, it's unclear when -- if at all -- Jenkins will return to daytime now that his wife is in good health. In any case, fans can look forward to seeing him in the film The Reason opposite Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr., which is currently in post-production and will most likely be released later this year.
Would you like to leave well wishes for Jenkins and his wife, Ashlee? Would you like to see Jenkins return to daytime? If so, which soap would you love for him to visit?
