The Young and the Restless has recast the role of Kyle Abbott. Blake Hood, who joined the show just last year, is out. The CBS soap has tapped another soap newcomer to take over.
Call it a case of 9021-uh-oh. The Young and the Restless has replaced relative newcomer Blake Hood in the role of Kyle Abbott.
Hood, who joined Y&R, having had primetime soap experience on 90210 and Desperate Housewives, made his first appearance in Genoa City just a year ago. Hood's casting was part of an effort by the CBS soap to "age" Kyle for storyline purposes.
Daytime newcomer Hartley Sawyer will take over as Kyle beginning next month. Sawyer has appeared in primetime on Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23, GCB, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Sawyer will tape his first scenes the week of March 18.
