Primetime viewers will soon have a chance to watch actor Billy J. Miller in action. The Y&R star has landed a recurring role in the new series, Ringer. The CW series stars All My Children vet Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Emmy winner Billy J. Miller (Billy Abbott) has landed another job -- this one in primetime. Miller has landed a recurring role in the CW's new series, Ringer, according to a report by TVGuide.
The role will not affect Miller's work on The Young and the Restless. In June, the actor signed a new contract with Y&R, which, according to one insider, was specifically crafted to allow for Miller to pursue projects outside of daytime.
Ringer stars All My Children vet Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart, AMC) as Bridget, who, after witnessing a murder, goes on the run and assumes the life of her twin sister, Siobhan, after her sister apparently commits suicide. Bridget soon learns that her sister's seemingly idyllic life is just as complicated and dangerous as the life she was trying to leave behind.
Ringer will be very much the soap opera family affair. In addition to Gellar and Miller, Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie Martin, AMC) will appear in the recurring role of "Tyler," a young man who sets his sights on Siobhan. Miller also appeared on All My Children, playing Richie Novak from 2007 to 2008.
Miller's Y&R co-star, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) has also taped a guest-starring appearance for an upcoming episode of Ringer.
Miller's Ringer role is also slated to be recurring, and will first pop up in the series' fifth episode -- scheduled for October 11. Ringer premieres Tuesday, September 13 at 9/8c on the CW.
