Ted and Leslies fatal attraction on Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Ted Richardson has been holding onto a firecracker of a secret and it would seem that nothing is going to stop it from being lit at the anniversary bash celebration.

Ever since we saw Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) run Laura (Destiny Love)off the road, we’ve been on a course headed straight to disaster for Ted (Maurice Johnson) and his wife Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix). Laura was Nicole's personal assistant and now languishes in hospital indefinitely. We now know that Ted had an affair with Leslie a long time ago, before Kat (Colby Muhammed) was born. Ted’s wife had a miscarriage and it had really tested them as a couple, Nicole had pushed Ted away she said by making everything about trying for another baby, it all felt very scientific and not romantic.

They were in a rocky place. Ted spent more time working and being with his friends. Ted met Leslie and the two began an affair. It wasn't a one off and Ted has said that he had told Leslie it was more than just a fling to help him deal with it in his own head, this has definitely helped Leslie spiral.

One night their very young son Martin had such a fever that Nicole took him to the hospital, Ted however couldn't be reached, he later explained he was behind an accident on the beltway. Ted arrived many hours later. If Leslie is to be believed that was when she had conceived a child. Ted has maintained that it was Leslies decision to not have the baby, Leslie tells a different story, of being hounded by Ted’s lawyers and being paid off to not have the baby. Leslie lied to Ted and said that they didn't have a child. Fast forward and they most certainly do. Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) is very much real and has been told that Ted is her father and that her mom, Leslie is going to make sure that she claims her birthright and sits at the table in the lovely house that Ted and Nicole have. For now Eva has been inserted into the Richardsons lives as a replacement assistant to Nicole.

Something straight out of a thriller movie

Ted has no idea the extreme measures Leslie will go to, to unravel and blow up Ted’s perfect life. Paying her an extra 50 thousand dollars in cash to leave town after she attended a dinner disguised as waiting staff made Ted think it was over. Little does he know that she has an entire wig collection now, based on all the aliases she’s used. She's even faked being a nurse to cause Laura a heart attack in hospital as she recovers from the car accident, so her daughter Eva could continue in her role as Nicole's assistant.

Ted and Nicole will celebrate their wedding anniversary with a massive party, and Leslie is going to make sure she attends with her only mission being to bring it to everyone's attention that Ted is not the man they all think he is and how she had his baby. Can anyone stop this? It’s like knowing the iceberg is going to hit the Titanic and not knowing how to divert course. Eva is having doubts about her mothers plan and its impact not only on people she is getting to know and love but also how it will affect her. Will the Richardsons even look at her again once they find out that Eve was a part of the plan and had been lying to them as well? Or will they see her as being manipulated by a genuinely out of control sociopath.

It’s coming to a head soon and there is still time for Ted to come clean to his wife and weather the storm but prevent the public humiliation of it being exposed at the party.
