Agatha All Along is a miniseries on Disney+ featuring the Marvel Comics character Agatha Harkness. The series is a spin-off of Marvel's WandaVision. The miniseries concluded its season finale on October 30, 2024, running for a total of nine episodes.
After the events of WandaVision, Agatha is condemned to live in Westview. She is freed from Westview by a gothic teen with a mystery identity. The Teen asks her to walk the Witch's Road with him.
Wanting to restore her powers, Agatha puts a coven together. The series marks the debut of Aubrey Plaza, who plays the role of Rio Vidal, who is later revealed to be Lady Death. Since Lady Death is the personification of the cosmic force, Death, she is bound to return to the MCU.
Lady Death is a well-known entity in Marvel Comics. First Introduced in a 1973 issue of Captain Marvel, Lady Death has featured in many Marvel storylines. The character is shown to be an ally of Thanos and is even featured in the comics in the Infinity Stones saga.

Will Lady Death return to the MCU?
Agatha All Along established Lady Death as a character in the MCU. While Rio Vidal, also known as Lady Death, was nowhere to be seen in episode 6, she returned in episode 7, revealing that she was Death all along.
This tells us why, in the earlier episodes, the Ouija board signaled to Death also being in the room. In episode 7, when Lilia Calderu is coming to terms with her inevitable death, a hooded figure visits her. The figure questions Lilia if she remembers her. The figure reveals itself to be Rio as Lady Death in its true form.
Marvel is known for bringing together characters across stories and timelines. Keeping this in mind, along with Marvel's upcoming projects, we can safely say this is not the last time audiences will see Lady Death.
In Agatha All Along, Lady Death is shown to be the ultimate antagonist of the series. Since Lady Death is the human form of the cosmic force, Death, there is lots of potential for the character to be used in future storylines.
With many stories of Marvel dealing with mortality, audiences can expect to see more of Lady Death, especially when the death and return of leading characters are shown.
This claim can also be supported by Lady Death's significant role in the comic books that Marvel has yet to explore. Since Death is a cosmic force, she is not restricted to a particular story, which can allow her character to play significant roles in many of Marvel's upcoming projects.
Audiences can hope to see Lady Death in upcoming projects such as What If...?, Marvel Zombies, and Blade. Since many of these projects deal with themes of life and Death, Lady Death would be a good fit for these stories.
Aubrey Plaza, who played the role of Lady Death in Agatha All Along, also hinted at her character's potential return. In Marvel Studios' Assembled: The Making of Agatha All Along, Aubrey Plaza revealed feeling connected with Lady Death due to the character's depth and contradictions.
Aubrey Plaza also stated that the variations in her role allowed her to embody the character in three different versions. She further said that she enjoyed playing the role of Lady Death and could easily play her again in the MCU.
Will there be a season 2 of Agatha All Along?
For those who enjoyed the series and are wondering if there is more in store for them, it is safe to say that it is highly unlikely that the series will return for another season.
Since the series was a miniseries, only nine episodes were intended. Considering the comic books, Agatha will most likely continue in the MCU as a spirit. The comics saw Agatha help Wanda and cross the real Witches' Road with her.
Since that is something Billy and Agatha did, we can assume that this is not the last we will see of Agatha. Towards the end of the series, Agatha becomes Billy's spirit guide and helps him find his twin, Tommy Maximoff. Audiences can expect to see Agatha in future stories involving Billy Maximoff.
