Netflix's latest psychological thriller, His & Hers recently released on the OTT streaming platform, on January 8. The show has received quite the positive feedback so far, and with the final episode now having been released, fans are eagerly awaiting an announcement for a renewal of the show for Season 2.

However, there have been no such updates from the creators of the show or Netflix itself, and the way things ended in the finale episode, Season 2 of His & Hers seems quite unlikely at the moment.

His & Hers follows the story of Tessa Thompson's Anna and Jon Bernthal's Jack, who are an estranged couple, forced to reunite in their hometown after a series of mysterious deaths take place. The duo is both in their hometown to solve the murder, but they also suspect each other in the course of events.

The storyline of the show progresses in a very gripping manner, where the audience is on the edge of their seats till the very end. However, much to fans' disappointment, it is highly unlikely that the show will be renewed for Season 2.

The storyline of His & Hers is completed in Season 1 itself, so a renewal for Season 2 seems unlikely

The story of His & Hers is based on Alice Feeney's novel by the same name. As per the original source the storyline for the novel is concluded within the first season itself, so if the show continues, it will no longer continue to be true to the original story. Moreover, the show, labelled as a limited series on Netflix, sees a rather well-rounded conclusion at the end of Season 1 itself, to the extent of revealing the actual culprit behind the crime. This does not leave much to explore in Season 2, making a sequel highly unlikely.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Season 1 keeps fans on the edge of their seats till the very end, where it is finally revealed that the true murderer is actually Anna's mother. The finale reveals that Anna's mother, Alice, committed the crimes and murdered Rachel, Helen, and Zoe to seek revenge for something they had done to her daughter when they were all younger. However, she does end up being involved in a fourth murder, that of Lexy, which she confesses was unintentional.

In a letter to Anna, she claims that she never intended to kill Ley, but she dies when she gets shot by Priya, who is trying to protect Anna. As for Anna, she eventually ends up back with Jack by the end of the season, and is pregnant with their second child.

But does that mean that Anna and Jack will reunite and return to solve more cases together? Well, it seems unlikely, but fans can always be hopeful for an announcement from the streaming giant.
