Deborah Grover's Tillie was one of the most suspicious characters in From, who was tragically killed by Fatima in From Season 3 Episode 7. The circumstances that led to Tillie's death in MGM+'s horror suspense series were certainly heartbreaking and also foreshadowed the shocking Season 3 finale twist about Fatima's unusual pregnancy.

Introduced in the From Season 2 premiere, Tillie was one of Township's older residents, who returned to the Purgatory by a Grand Rapids Runner Bus. Her arrival in Fromville was always shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and it was also suggested that she might have some connection to the town's supernatural happenings.

Her increasing interest in Fatima's unusual pregnancy in From Season 3 also hinted that she might hold the key to the town's secret. In addition, her connection to the dead kimono woman also made her a highly suspicious character. However, this intrigue around her character was cut short in From Season 3 Episode These Fragile Lives, where the monster growing in Fatima's belly took full control over her and she fatally stabbed Tillie in the chest.

More on this in our story.

After Kristi concluded that Fatima is likely suffering from psychosomatic pregnancy, which is forcing her to believe that she is pregnant, she was declared a social outcast. Since Donna was concerned that Fatima might be harboring a monster in her belly in From Season 3, she asks Boyd to move Ellis and Fatima out of the Colony House.

Episode 7 saw Fatima having strange cravings and temptations, which suggested that she was indeed about to give birth to one of the creatures from Fromville. Firstly, she resists the temptation to taste the blood on her arm and later stops herself from eating rotten crops in the Greenhouse. While Fatima managed to control her sinister cravings, they made her extremely violent and restless, which ultimately led to Tillie's death in From Season 3 Episode 7.

In the final moments of the episode, Fatima suffered another craving in the Greenhouse, following which her belly contracted and something pulled on her stomach from the inside. This was when Tillie entered the greenhouse and tried to comfort Fatima, telling her not to get anxious and afraid. However, Fatima's extreme pain and frustration got the best of her, and she stabbed the elderly woman with a pair of gardening shears.

Fatima's fatal act proved that the monster growing inside her belly finally took full control of her body, and she lost her mind, committing an irreversible act of murder.

What were Tillie's dying words to Fatima in From Season 3?

While Tillie's death was truly tragic in From Season 3, it was more shocking to see Fatima lose control of her body in such a violent manner and commit the crime. However, the minute she stabbed Tillie in the chest, Fatima came back to her senses and screamed and cried over her actions.

Her pain and agony from the strange creature breeding inside her belly became tenfold after she realized that she had committed an unthinkable action against an elderly woman who was trying to help her. What made this moment even more heartbreaking was that Tillie asked Fatima to run while taking her final breaths. In her final moments, Tillie says to Fatima:

“You have to run.”

While many decoded this as Tillie's connection to the creatures of Fromville, this was her way to save Fatima from her murder charge. Since Tillie is one of the old residents in the Township, she knows about the sinister happenings and how it wasn't truly Fatima who murdered her in the Greenhouse. Tillie's final words suggested that she wanted Fatima to escape the townspeople before they realized that she had become a murderer.
