Among the many complex characters in Mr. Robot, Angela Moss's character really stands out. This is mainly because of her normality. Her character in the series is quite relatable. Since her childhood, she has faced many difficulties.
After losing her mother, she is often shrouded in mystery and grief, but she handles it with ease. She also confronts her problems directly. She is very meticulous in finding answers, going to great lengths to do so. From sexual harassment to blackmail, Angela’s story arc in Mr. Robot is filled with hardships.

Losing a loved one is always a hard experience. Angela struggles after learning about her mother’s imminent death. Her mother’s death was undoubtedly a driving factor behind her actions in Mr. Robot. Many viewers have pointed out that her behavior throughout the seasons was often reckless. However, her past had a profound impact on her.
It caused her actions to become unsettling. She often completely disregarded the consequences of her actions in the real world. She believed that the past could be reversed. This belief was her main motivation. As a result, her actions gradually shifted from seeking justice for her mother to taking a desperate gamble on a promise.
Elliot and Angela’s deep connection, which linked them through her pseudonym Claudia Kincaid, represented their shared past. Much of the story focuses on past incidents, which eventually drive Elliot and Claudia, also known as Angela, in their actions. The name Claudia also subtly hints at the loss of childhood innocence.
Portia Doubleday delivers a commendable performance as Angela, especially in portraying her subtle emotional moments. Angela is a complex character, and capturing her internal struggle between right and wrong is an intriguing challenge that Doubleday executes remarkably well. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Doubleday discusses Angela’s ending in Mr. Robot.
“When she’s talking to Price about the hypocrisy in that moment, that’s the big win. Her father, who basically turned her into a monster, is a hypocrite because it’s all bullshit. So, in the end, I find her to be the most woken up and the most courageous in that act to not give a shit because it literally does not matter anymore.”

It cannot be denied that Portia Doubleday’s skill to portray Claudia, also known as Angela, and her profound psychological evolution from grief-stricken to a radicalized extremist is brilliant.
