Details confirming The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power include the introduction of a new character, Dark Wizard, played by Ciaran Hinds. Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie are the latest additions to the newest season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

As reported by Deadline and CBR, Ciaran Hinds's character in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is a dark and powerful wizard whose origins and intentions are shrouded in secrecy. He has a legion of magic-wielding acolytes who obey his every command — among them the three travelers who sought out the Stranger at the end of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is set to feature newcomers and aims to reveal the Stranger's identity and wizard origin story.
