While fans desperately wait for September 3 and the rest of the episodes of Wednesday Season 2, Netflix has another exciting update for fans of the titular anti-hero played by Jenna Ortega.
The unprecedented success of the first season of the show raised a lot of doubt about the second season being able to replicate it. It appears, however, that there was nothing to worry about, as Wednesday Season 2 has racked up about 50 million views in the first five days on the streamer, and considering the fact that this is a staggered release, it might surpass the viewership records set by the first season in 2022.
The widely acclaimed horror series had been renewed for season 3 even before season 2 premiered. Now, in a recent conversation with Collider, co-creators and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar revealed the episode count for the third season of the franchise. They also shared,
"We’re actually in the writers' room for season 3. So we’re down the road a bit in the writers' room, but now we, of course, stop to launch season 2."
Showrunners reveal the episode count for Wednesday Season 3 ahead of the Season 2 Part 2 release

Wednesday is one of the biggest projects for Netflix, and much like some of its other big projects, Netflix planned a staggered release format for the show instead of releasing all the episodes at once. This allowed the creatives behind the show to experiment with a different format for the show as well.
In the first season, all of the episodes led to a whodunit mystery, which was solved at the end of the season, whereas in the second season, a different approach was used. In the first half of the season, which premiered on August 6, the overarching mystery of the murders by a murder of crows was solved by the end of the four episodes, along with the mystery of the stalker following Wednesday.
However, the end of the four episodes also opened up to a newer mystery with Tyler, who escaped from Willow Hill in his Hyde form after the mass breakout, which also led to Judi, the Avian behind LOIS, escaping. So, the second season has tweaked the format in an interesting manner.
The audience might get to witness some more changes in the format with the third season. However, one thing that will remain constant for the third season as well is the episode count, as confirmed by the creators in the Collider interview.
