The previous episode, which aired on April 13, 2025, was titled "Take a Family History." It explored Dr. Ingrid's back story and why she holds a grudge against Mary. The episode saw Mary and John hint that Ingrid would have to leave the hospital, following her secret with Gigi, which hints that she might consider Moriarty's offer.

Watson Episode 10, titled The Man with the Alien Hand, will air on CBS on April 20, 2025, at 9 pm ET/PT. Viewers who want to stream the episode live can do so with a Paramount+ Essential subscription. The official synopsis for the upcoming episode reads as follows (according to IMDB):
"The clinic's latest patient, who is under treatment for Alien Hand Syndrome, comes under suspicion of fatally pushing his brother in front of a bus. Watson must determine if he is guilty or innocent."
The synopsis of the upcoming episode hints that John's detective skills will be put to the test once again when he attends to a patient with Alien Hand Syndrome, in which a person's limbs function independently of their will.
The patient would be accused of pushing his brother fatally, and John must find out if the man is actually innocent or just using his condition to hide the murder. Meanwhile, John and his fellow doctors will be put in difficult spots with each strange case.
What happened in Watson Episode 9?
Watson Episode 9 builds on Ingrid's backstory and explains why she was so keen on joining the Spinal Signal Program, because of her sister Gigi. It is revealed that their father was abusive and also responsible for Gigi's fall from the second-floor balcony, which led to a back injury.
When Ingrid rushed Gigi to UHOP, the doctor attending her declared that they couldn't operate on her because if they did, her spleen would likely burst. Ingrid then reached out to a young surgeon, who was none other than Mary. While Mary tried her best to help them, she could not go against her senior doctor's wishes, and thus, Ingrid still holds Mary responsible for Gigi's inability to move.
In the present day, Gigi suddenly calls Ingrid because all her limbs have stopped working. She rushes her to UHOP but pretends not to know her since that would compromise her position in the program. However, Watson catches on to her lie and confronts Ingrid about Gigi.
Hearing about Ingrid's motivations for joining the program, Mary gives her a two-month ultimatum, asking Ingrid to find a new job, and even John backs her up. While she leaves, a flashback shows her killing her father with a syringe of fentanyl and driving him to the pond, signaling that this was the secret Moriatry was talking about.
