Set 100 years after the events of the original series, Vikings: Valhalla season 3 has finally hit Netflix. The sequel focuses on the adventures and threats revolving around the Norsemen, played by a new cast of actors introduced from season 1.

The Vikings are trying hard to survive and fight to keep their culture alive, and their fate will be discovered in the third and last season of Vikings: Valhalla. Fans have enjoyed the iconic figures, including Leif Eriksson, his resilient and brave sister Freydís, and the most appealing Norwegian Prince Harald Sigurdsson.

While talking about Vikings: Valhalla Season 3, co-creator and executive producer Jeb Stuart spoke about the journey of the iconic trio and how far they have reached in the finale. Stuart said (via Netflix):

"I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydís. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today, and we have done just that."

The producer expressed excitement about the reception of Vikings: Valhalla Season 3, as the final odyssey has been declared. The Vikings must ensure their future generations are safe in the ever-changing world.

Leif Eriksson (played by Sam Corlett) in Vikings: Valhalla Season 3

Sam Corlett, known for his role in Vinland Saga, plays a crucial figure in Vikings: Valhalla. The real-life Leif Eriksson hails from Greenland and is best known for his fierce nature. He was never afraid of the outcomes of exploring new places and was the first among his people to have stepped into North America.

Similarly, in Vikings: Valhalla, Corlett's Leif Eriksson is brave and curious about different places in the world. He is friends with Prince Harald Sigurdsson, and they navigate various challenges together.

Leif even falls in love with a charming lady named Mariam, but fate has something else in mind. Mariam falls terminally ill and dies in front of Leif. Her death severely impacts him, but since he has a goal, the explorer continues his journey.


Harald Sigurdsson (played by Leo Suter)

Harald Sigurdsson is another titular character in Vikings: Valhalla, portrayed by talented actor Leo Suter. Harald currently aims to become the King of Norway.

He's strong and a skilled warrior who teams up with Leif and his sister Freydís. The trio travel together to Constantinople, each having an aim, and Harald is on a quest to build an army.

The Prince has a romantic relationship with Freydís, but it soon ends when Harald becomes interested in another woman. However, his goal remains the same: to claim the King's throne in Norway.


Freydís Eiríksdóttir (played by Frida Gustavsson)

Freydís Eiríksdóttir is Leif Eriksson's sister, who remains a resilient leader of the Vikings in Jomsborg. While their culture and beliefs are threatened, Freydís impressively holds on to the Viking pagan religion.

She faces numerous challenges in life, including assault; hence, her initial acts are primarily out of revenge. However, as the season progresses, fans and viewers see a great character development of Freydís Eiríksdóttir.

According to Netflix, actress Frida Gustavsson shed light on the journey of her on-screen character and said:

"In the beginning, she was out for revenge for herself, but she’s really grown into this person who truly stands in being the last daughter of Uppsala."

From being thrust into revenge, Freydís Eiríksdóttir gradually becomes a spiritual leader among the Vikings who aims to protect her community and ensure its survival in the world.

King Canute is one of Prince Harald Sigurdsson's main rivals. He's currently seen sitting on the throne. Harald believes he is the righteous person to be King, but Canute makes things hard for him.

The King is brilliant and smart. He is working to establish his empire in Northern Europe, which is only possible by forming alliances with other leaders and building a huge army.

Laura Berlin's Emma is the most beloved woman and wife to King Canute. He deeply cares for Emma and wants to ensure her safety and happiness. She's the great-granddaughter of a Viking leader and a strategist.

Emma is known for her decision-making skills and intelligence. She works hard to help her husband reach his goal and establish a huge empire.


Ælfgifu of Northampton (played by Pollyanna McIntosh)

After being abandoned by King Canute, Ælfgifu of Northampton looks forward to making new alliances and gaining significant power. David Okaes's Earl Godwin is one of the most cunning advisors in Vikings: Valhalla. His primary goal is to secure power through family connections or corrupt acts.

While many fail to understand the clever Earl Godwin, Queen Emma is often suspicious of him. She barely trusts Earl and threatens to uncover his true colors.


George Maniakes (played by Florian Munteanu)

Known for his role in Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings, actor Florian Munteanu secured the role of George Maniakes in Vikings: Valhalla. He works in the Byzantine Empire and is a powerful personality.

George Maniakes and Prince Harald Sigurdsson share bad blood, although they are rivals. He's not just an adversary in the series but also plays a critical role in highlighting the struggles of the titular characters.
