After repeatedly breaking the show's conduct rules, Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke left the Celebrity Big Brother UK home early.

"Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour,"

a spokesperson for CBB confirmed to Deadline.

The 72-year-old actor's exit came after a string of events that alarmed viewers and housemates alike, such as a furious altercation with former Love Island UK contestant Chris Hughes and previous divisive comments made about JoJo Siwa.

These incidents come after Rourke was formally warned for using homophobic language on the well-known reality show, in which celebrities compete for a monetary reward and public favor while living together in a remote home under continual camera observation.

The breaking point for Celebrity Big Brother UK producers came after Rourke engaged in what sources described as a "threatening and aggressive" verbal confrontation with fellow contestant Chris Hughes. The pair clashed during a house task, leading to an exchange that crossed the line of acceptable behavior according to the show's standards.

The nature of Rourke's words seemed to go against the terms of his previous warning, even if the argument never turned physical. The event turned out to be the last chapter of the actor's turbulent time in the Celebrity Big Brother UK house.

Rourke's problems started earlier this week on Celebrity Big Brother UK when he was officially warned for making offensive remarks to JoJo Siwa, age 21. The actor told Siwa that if he stayed in the house "longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore."

Tensions escalated when Siwa firmly responded:

"I can guarantee I'll still be gay, and I'll still be in a very happy relationship"

Fellow Celebrity Big Brother UK contestants later overheard Rourke telling Hughes he was

"going to vote the lesbian out real quick,"

prompting Siwa to confront him, saying:

"That's homophobic, if that was your reasoning."

Following this incident, Big Brother summoned Rourke to the diary room, where he was officially warned that his "language was offensive and unacceptable" and could result in removal from the competition if repeated.

After his diary room warning, Rourke did attempt to make amends with Siwa.

"I apologize. I don't have dishonorable intentions – I'm just talking smack you know. I wasn't taking it all so serious. I didn't mean it in any bad intentions and if I did, sorry,"

he told Big Brother. He later approached Siwa directly, telling her:

"I want to apologize. I've got a habit of having a short fuse. And I don't mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn't, I wouldn't say it to you."

Despite this apology, the relationship between the two remained strained, with Siwa later using her "killer nomination" power to put Rourke at risk of eviction.

The controversy quickly spread beyond the Big Brother house, drawing reactions from Siwa's family and representatives of Rourke.

Siwa's mother, Jessalyn, expressed her disappointment on Instagram:

"I'm really sad, though, that I sent my kid — and she is my kid [because] I am her mom and she is my kid — to a foreign country to do a TV show and she got treated like that right away, right out of the gate."

Meanwhile, Rourke's spokesperson, Kimberly Hines, defended the actor, telling Us Weekly that he "speaks from his heart and means well."

"He is old school, direct and honest. I have worked closely with him for nine years and he is 100 percent authentically himself. There will never be another Mickey Rourke. Period,"

Hines stated.

Other house drama and aftermath

Celebrity Big Brother UK has seen its fair share of drama, but this season really delivered on the controversy. Mickey Rourke’s sudden walkout wasn’t the only headline—former MP Michael Fabricant was also shown the door after getting the fewest public votes. His exit came in the middle of serious backlash, following claims from Trisha Goddard that he made Islamophobic remarks during a conversation about immigration.

Things got even more heated when Rourke clashed with fellow Celebrity Big Brother UK housemate and former East Enders star Patsy Palmer. A tense moment in the kitchen turned emotional when he bluntly told her she “can’t cook,” leaving her in tears.

With Rourke’s early exit now considered one of the more dramatic departures in the show’s history, this season has raised tough questions for producers.

Reality TV thrives on bold personalities and messy conflicts, but there’s a fine line between entertainment and unacceptable behavior. No matter how famous the cast, networks are still expected to keep things respectful—and this season put that balancing act to the test.

As the competition continues without Rourke, the remaining Celebrity Big Brother UK housemates will likely reflect on the boundaries of acceptable behavior while continuing to compete for the public's support and the ultimate prize.
