"They would make me cry": Love on the Spectrum's Adan recalls getting bullied in the school for being different

Netflix's Love on the Spectrum aired its latest third season on April 2, 2025. The series follows individuals on the spectrum and their dating life. One of the returning participants, Adan, 27, shared about his childhood and how he was bullied for being "different."

While sharing about himself, Adan revealed that he is a nerd who loves anime and has knowledge of multiple languages. When he faced the question about dating during his school days, Love on the Spectrum star shared:

"No. I did socialize, but I never went on any dates, not like the other guys. I was picked on a lot by the guys and the girls. There were instances where they would make me cry just because I was different."

Love on the Spectrum Season 3 Episode 1: Adan opens up about his childhood, school days, and dating

The first episode of Love on the Spectrum re-introduced Adan, who recalled his childhood and school days. The male cast member shared:

"Hello there, My name's Adan. Um, I'm 27, and I live in beautiful Orange County in the heart of the county, Santa Ana. Where specifically, that's confidential. I'm a huge nerd. Love anime. I'm bilingual too."

Answering "dating in school," Adan revealed he socialized but "never went" on any dates. He confessed to being "picked on" by girls and boys during school. He also said they would make him cry because he was "different."

Coming to his one-year-long relationship, the producers asked Adan about Dani. Responding to being in a relationship, Adan replied:

"I am. It's officially a year since Dani and I became boyfriend and girlfriend."

Later, when Adan faced the question regarding being intimate with Dani, he stated that they had not yet been intimate.

"Well, unless you count kissing, but that's really it."

Living with his family, Love on the Spectrum star Adan stated that he had a special celebration planned for Dani.

Adan was getting ready for his celebration with Dani, so his father helped him. Later when the Love on the Spectrum star Adan got ready in a suit, he had flowers and a gift for his girlfriend.

"Roses are red, violets are blue. When I see Dani, I'm in love with you," he sang.

He told his father that he had planned "something special" for Dani.

"I'm presenting her with a gift I know that she'll love."

He had a customized picture book containing pictures from his and Dani's first date and more. While his father helped him gift wrap the book, his father confessed to the cameras:

"With Adan and Dani, seeing what's going on, it...it's a beautiful thing to witness. I hope it works out for them. I hope they continue to grow. We're not gonna push it. We're not gonna make it happen. We're just gonna watch it happen."

After wrapping his gift and getting fresh flowers for Dani, Adan left to see Dani for their first-anniversary celebration.
