The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 Finale Recap: What did the participants chose to do after their trial marriages?
The finale started with The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 host JoAnna Garcia Swisher sharing the latest update. She mentioned how two months ago, couples accepted the Ultimatum and broke up with their original partners.
Participants then went to see their original partners and revealed their decision whether to get engaged, break up, or leave solo.
The first couple was Haley and Pilar. She issued the Ultimatum to Pilar after ten years of being together. She recalled how her actions had hurt Pilar, and her head was "very clouded."
Before their meeting, Haley went to "confront" Magan, her first trial marriage partner. While Magan told her to apologize to Dayna if they were all to be friends, Haley responded:
"I would never let someone in my life treat me the way you've treated me. And...I don't want you in my life in any capacity."
AJ and Britney were the next couple. The latter issued an Ultimatum to AJ, and she felt worried. AJ was feeling a "bunch of different emotions" before their meeting. During their meeting, Britney shared her emotions while AJ recalled the time on the show and how they've grown.
When Britney got emotional, AJ pulled tissues out of her jacket and gave them to her. After expressing their feelings, AJ proposed to Britney, and they got engaged.
"I don't want life with anyone else, but you, babe," said AJ.
The next couple featured on the The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 finale were Haley and Pilar. The two discussed their experience on the show and how they had focused on the wrong things. Soon, Pilar pulled out a box and proposed. The two celebrated their engagement.
Up next were Ashley and Marita. Even though Ashley issued the Ultimatum, she confessed how the experience "opened up" a lot of doors to:
"Things I didn't even know I needed to work on."
She also read a few lines that she had written for Marita. Marita confessed she couldn't imagine her life without Ashley. When Ashley asked her if she had been happy the past couple of months, Marita said no.
As a result, Ashley said she didn't know if she could go through with the engagement. She mentioned it was not "right" at that point in time for them. The two parted ways in an emotional moment. Marita said she should have said yes, but Ashley "took it away."
Bridget and Kyle met for their Ultimatum Day meeting and discussed how they had "worked through" during their trial marriage. Both of them were proud of how far they had come.
"Whenever you kiss, like, you still give me butterflies. To this day, I get so happy when I see you," confessed Kyle.
Soon, Kyle got on her knee and pulled out the ring. The two got engaged and confessed their love to each other.
The next couple meeting during Season 2 finale was between Dayna and Magan. Before their meeting, Dayna went to see Mel. She spoke of the letter that Mel wrote to her, which she found the night before.
After their conversation, Dayna went to see Magan. The two talked about Magan's meeting with Haley and Mel's letter. They also wrote letters to each other that they read. Magan proposed to Dayna, after which Dayna also pulled a ring for her. The two got engaged on The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 finale.
The last meeting was between Marie and Mel. Despite being nervous, Mel expressed that she learned "a lot" about herself throughout the experience. Marie felt that they could get "over" everything. Mel proposed with the Ring Pop first, and then with the actual ring. They also left the experiment as an engaged couple.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 finale ended with the couples who got engaged, poppoing champagne and celebrating their engagements.
The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
