In 1989, the renowned cartoon series The Simpsons made its broadcast debut on Fox Broadcasting Company. It was written by Matt Groening and follows the bizarre lives of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson in Springfield.

The program alternates between scathing satire and touching moments, making fun of everything from politics to pop culture. With 789 episodes released to date, it is now the longest-running animated sitcom in US history.

The Simpsons introduces Kelly Macleod as the voice actor for Milhouse as Pamela Hayden retires after 35 years, and the Season 36 finale features Macleod's first appearance. In the meantime, Kelly Macleod's career is still going strong, thanks to her noteworthy roles in film projects like Brave (2012), No Country for Old Men (2007), and Trainspotting (1996).

Milhouse Van Houten got a new voice actor for The Simpsons after almost 35 years, and in 2024, Pamela Hayden, who has voiced Milhouse since the show's debut, will retire. According to FOX, the position will be filled by singer and performer Kelly Macleod.

In the Season 36 finale, titled "Estanger Things," which premieres on Sunday, May 18, 2025, Macleod will play Milhouse for the first time. Alongside adult versions of Bart and Lisa, Milhouse appears in the episode as a future version of himself. The passage offers an early look at Macleod's interpretation of the character, despite the fact that he only gets one word.

Macleod is not new to The Simpsons. She previously sang "Two Badges, One Mind" in the 2022 episode "Bart the Cool Kid." Outside of the show, she began her musical career with the band Private Life and eventually joined The Sweet Potatoes. Her solo album, Wide Open, was released in 2021, and her tunes have been featured in films such as Wayne's World (1992) and Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990).

Kelly Macleod is a singer and performer best recognized for her singing and recent voice acting work, and she was once the lead singer of the rock band Private Life, created by Edward Van Halen and known as Kelly Breznik. Her music has been featured in films, and she had her acting debut in Slice of Pie, which was written by her bandmate Rick Hall.

As The Simpsons enters a new era with a fresh voice behind Milhouse, Kelly Macleod and Kelly Macloed are both making distinctive yet important contributions to the entertainment business.
