The Pitt Season 2 adds a guest star to its cast. Television veteran Victor Rivas Rivers will appear in the upcoming season as Trent Norris, Chief Executive Officer of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. This follows after the series expanded character roster for season two.

Rivers' initial medical drama appearance will be in this role, as he will be joining returning and new cast members for season two as the show moves into its next chapter.


Victor Rivas Rivers joins The Pitt Season 2

Victor Rivas Rivers was announced as the new casting for The Pitt Season 2. The actor, who formerly guest-starred in The Mask of Zorro and Blood In, Blood Out, is guest-starring as Trent Norris. His character was described as the hospital CEO. The casting is the newest officially confirmed news by Deadline.

Trent Norris will be established at the hospital admin level, but information regarding his position, episodes, or direction is not yet known.


Season 2 timeline and setting

The Pitt Season 2 will start ten years after the last season. The second season takes place on the Fourth of July holiday weekend, a time period selected to enclose future episodes. The show will remain in real time, with every episode covering one hospital shift. The format is still the same as Season 1.


Returning and leaving cast

A few of the main cast members will be coming back to reprise their acting stints on the show. They are Archie Panjabi as Dr. Amira O'Malley, Jeremy Bobb as Dr. Paul Roberge, and Sam Vartholomeos as Dr. Robby Holland.

Tracy Ifeachor, who had a role as Dr. Heather Collins during season 1, will not be back in season 2.


Premiere and production news

The premiere is officially announced in January 2026. Although an official date has not been released, various reports from outlets like TV Insider and Deadline have already set the release month. The show’s production resumed on location in Burbank and Pittsburgh for Season 2.

Production is already underway, with production occurring before the premiere of the season. Promo materials, such as first-look photos and social media teasers, are available on official sites.


The Pitt Season 2 is introducing new faces in its cast roster as Victor Rivas Rivers officially joins the show as Trent Norris, the CEO of the hospital. Returning and exiting cast members, the second season will maintain the series' real-time premise and move its story ten months forward.
