The Hunting Wives is an American drama series that is loosely based on the novel of the same name by May Cobb. At the heart of the story is Sophie O’Neil, a woman who has followed her husband from Boston to East Texas.
At first, it appears to be an exciting, fresh start, but she quickly becomes entranced by a glamorous socialite group led by Margo. What begins as innocent social playtime quickly turns dark.
The Hunting Wives is a group of wealthy women in a small Texas town who drink heavily, go clay shooting, and seduce the local married men for fun. Sophie gets curious about this group and ends up being obsessed.
She soon finds herself in complicated personal relationship dynamics, dark secrets, and the overwhelming politics of a small town. Everything changes when the dead body of a teenage girl is discovered in the woods where the women play.
The series became incredibly popular on Starz, so Netflix made it available only in the US. But now, fans around the globe will be able to watch The Hunting Wives Season 2 as the platform has decided to release it beyond the United States.

The Hunting Wives Season 2 officially confirmed for a global release on Netflix
The Hunting Wives has been officially renewed for a Season 2, this time as a Netflix global original. The renewal was announced in a playful FaceTime-style video shared by stars Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman on their Instagram stories.
Snow, who plays Sophie, is seen crying and frustrated with Margo leaving her helpless. But in the very next FaceTime video, Åkerman, who plays Margo, says:
"Actually, I know we're gonna see each other really soon... Pack your boots and load your guns 'cause we're going back to Maple Brook for Season 2, baby!"
What's even more exciting is that fans beyond the US will also be able to meet the scandalous wives in Season 2, and with a story that's original and packed with mysteries and tensions. Following the climactic scene at the end of Season 1, the upcoming chapter will bring back every main character.
While an exact release date is still not available yet, the timeline for the first season gives fans a clue: filming started in spring 2024, and the series aired more than a year after that. Using that as a reference for a gap between seasons, fans should expect a similar gap in time before The Hunting Wives Season 2 airs.

What will be the story in The Hunting Wives Season 2 on Netflix?

While the first book loosely followed the novel, The Hunting Wives Season 2 will be an original story. Netflix hasn't released any teaser or shared plot details, but Malin Åkerman did speculate what's next in an interview with Variety.
Teasing an alliance between Margo and Sophie, the actress said:
"I think it’ll have to be Margo and Sophie banding together to cover up the murder, and Margo reconciling with Jed."
As seen at the end of Season 1, Sophie and Margo have lost almost everything. So, one way to fix their mess is for Sophie and Margo to team up and for Margo to convince Jed to let her come back.
Since Jed is looking forward to a political career, having an obedient wife can boost his reputation. Malin Åkerman mentioned that Margo would never want to "lose that lifestyle or that position of power" she enjoyed for years.
