The Hunting Party Season 2 Episode 1 recap: Can Bex catch the MatchyMaker user?

The second season of The Hunting Party premiered yesterday on NBC at 10 p.m. ET. NBC users watched the return of Melissa Roxburgh in the pilot episode. This new season brought back Bex Henderson and her team. Currently they are continuing their mission to catch the escaped serial killers from the Pit.

We have seen at the ending of season 1 that Bex meet Colonel Eva Lazazrus and discovered the actual purpose of the Pit. Both of them tested a drug which increases or decreases the empathy of a person. When they were catching Jenna Wells (the serial killer), Ryan Hassani was shot and Oliver Odel was poisoned. The new season features a new serial killer in Texas

The pilot of The Hunting Party introduced the viewers to a young woman receiving her license at the DMV. Behind the counter, a person notices that Flora was her name. In order to pique her interest in him, he comments that her name reminds him of an old movie character. She ignores but somehow he gets her residential address.

You will see that he injects her with a paralytic poison while she lay on the bed. After that, the scene jumped to the explosion day at the Pit, where you might have seen a young man being identified as the serial killer, Ron Simms. The process of killing a person by the new serial killer captivated viewers.


Shocking discovery of the relationship between Ron and Bex

The episode revealed a strange connection between Bex and Ron. Viewers found that that Ron was on MatchyMaker, which is a dating app. This app was used by him to find and target the victims. This app helped Ron to find out his next targetted woman.

He again carried out the killings by following his similar pattern of poisoning with paralytic. The team planned to trap Ron. Bex stayed in her car, while Hassani and Shane waited for the serial killer to appear in front of them. But Ron turned out to be smarter and they failed.


Leadership transition

In this episode of The Hunting Party, viewers witnessed a change in leadership after the death of Oliver Odell. We saw that Colonel Lazarus took over. Oliver's death brought a twist in the story and it acted as a catalyst for Bex to quickly catch the serial killer.

Mallory appeared at the action scene and reminded everyone that she was working under Lazarus. As a result, interest shifted to Morales. This leadership change changed the entire scenario of catching Ron.
