Good news for fans: filming for Season 3 wrapped up by the end of January 2025. TV Insider had already confirmed with HBO that production would finish that month, and now it’s done and dusted.

That means post-production is underway - editing, scoring, polishing, all the good stuff - before we get to feast our eyes on the finished product.

While we don’t have a firm release date just yet, HBO has confirmed that Season 3 is coming sometime in June 2025. So yes, the wait is real, but it won’t be forever.

What happens after the Opera War?

Just like Season 2, the third season of The Gilded Age will feature eight carefully crafted episodes. Expect a weekly rollout on HBO and Max, giving fans time to savor every detail, from Bertha’s gowns to Agnes’ biting one-liners.

Season 3 will introduce a Newport-based doctor who becomes a love interest for Peggy. But this budding romance isn’t all sunshine; the doctor’s family disapproves of Peggy’s status and career.

Also, expect new players in the high-stakes world of society, maybe new rivals for Bertha or allies for Marian? We’ll see.

Season 2 ended with a bang, literally, the infamous Opera War. Season 3 picks up right after that. Now that the Russells have climbed to the top, what’s next? Will Bertha get too ambitious? Will George’s gamble cost him everything? Will the Brook sisters survive their internal rift?

The social stakes are higher than ever, and everyone’s reputation is on the line.
