Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3, and the overall 18th season of the show, is soon coming to an end with the release of its 10th episode on July 10, 2025. The hit crime drama continues to keep the audience hooked as the Behavioral Analysis Unit comes across some intriguing cases.
Meanwhile, the show has already been renewed for a fourth season by Paramount+, thanks to a positive response from the audience. The show’s cast has now revealed that Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 will end with an explosive finale that will directly set up the events of Season 4.
In an interview with TVLine, cast members Aisha Tyler and Aimee Garcia talked about what to expect from the last episode of the third season. Tyler, who stars as Dr. Tara Lewis, stated that the climax will establish exciting plots for the next season:
“There’s a really great puzzle box through the end of the season. The end is explosive and will propel everybody into the beginning of [Season 4] in a really exciting way.”
Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 cast teases an explosive finale
Aimee Garcia, who stars as Dr. Julia Ochoa, revealed that the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 finale will have all the signature elements of the series, as it will revolve around family, love, and loss. At the same time, the show has already started establishing some plot points that would become major storylines in Season 4:
“It’s obviously about family and love and loss, but it also makes you wonder if things are as they seem, and if things are really buttoned up, or not. All the seeds that have been planted this season will sprout next season, because the BAU is the most emotionally constipated team on TV right now.”
Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 4 was announced by Paramount+ in March 2025, way before the third installment even hit the screens. The premiere date for the upcoming chapter has not been announced as of now. Meanwhile, the third season has so far revolved around a growing network of serial killers tied to Elias Voit.
The BAU has investigated cases ranging from organized drownings and organ harvesting to victims buried alive. As Voit recovered from a coma, cryptic messages and disturbing videos pointed to a larger conspiracy that the unit has to solve before time runs out.
Apart from Aisha Tyler and Aimee Garcia, the show stars Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, A. J. Cook as Jennifer "JJ" Jareau, RJ Hatanaka as Tyler Green, Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, Zach Gilford as Elias Voit, Adam Rodriguez as Luke Alvez, and Nicole Pacent as Rebecca Wilson.
