Tex Mex Motors Season 2 Episode 2, Apache and the Chief, picked up where the first episode ended. Car scout Scooter and Rabbit were at Chihuahua to inspect a potential car, which didn't turn out to be what they had expected.
"We came 250 miles to Chihuahua because one of my contacts promised me that there was a '52 Chevy Fleetline in good condition. I'm starting to suspect that we got screwed," confessed Scooter.
When Scooter called his contact, he mentioned a classic Indian motorcycle, which they could see instead of the Chevy. They offered to buy both for $6,000, which the junkyard owner Santiago wanted to sell for $8,000. Both parties eventually agreed on a $6,500 deal.
When Scooter mentioned notifying Jamie about the deal, Rabbit said:
"No, no, no. After many marriages, I've learned we're better off with a surprise attack."
Later on, the Tex Mex Motors, Scooter, and Rabbit returned to the workshop; Jaime was not happy after seeing the condition of the Chevy. Later when they showed the team the motorcycle, Jamie shared that she was "pissed" since they do not work on motorcycles.
Soon after discussing the potential plan for restoring both vehicles, the team started working on the Chevy and the bike.
Rabbit and Scooter went to a car show to sell their Lincoln Continental. Many car enthusiasts saw the custom-made Continental but didn't want to buy it. Some potential buyers showed interest, but they also backed out.
Later that day at Tex Mex Motors, one of those potential buyers, Zeke, called Rabbit and inquired about the car. However, he mentioned that he could be "serious" in purchasing the car if the paint and design on the doors, which was a dragon, were to be modified.
"I'm proud of the dragon, but I get it. We've got a business to run. We sunk 25 to $26,000 in this Lincoln. And if Rabbit can't get 90 grand for it, that puts us in a profit margin of around $60,000. So, still hurts a little but that I've gotta, you know, slay the dragon. But I’ll take one for the team. Let's do it," confessed Andy.
Rabbit and Scooter met some bikers who gave them the required parts for the bike they had purchased earlier. They got all the required parts; however, the bikers asked for $15,000, which was much more than what they paid for the bike. Earlier, Jaime mentioned that the budget for restoring the bike was $6000.
However, Rabbit made a deal with the biker gang for $7,000 after they refused for a lower price.
"We'll build you guys a badass Harley here or whatever you want."
After the biker gang left, Rabbit told Scooter about how the members of the biker gang seemed:
"Did you see Rocket and Santos? Those guys weren't exactly Boy Scouts."
The second episode further featured the '52 Chevy Fleetline, which was ready after the restoration.
After the car and the bike were ready to sell, Scooter and Rabbit got several car collectors to look at them. Later, one of the car enthusiasts became interested and bought a Chevy for $70,000 in cash.
"We paid $6,500 for the Fleet line and the Indian. So let's say $3,250 in that old Chevy. We put about $28,000 in upgrades. But considering we sold it for 70 grand, that's a profit of $38,750," shared Rabbit.
Soon, a motorcycle collector, Dave, came to inspect the Indian motorcycle. He finalized a deal of $50,000 for the bike.
The second episode of Tex Mex Motors ended with Scooter getting a call about a potential Apache truck, for which he and Rabbit went to Juarez. The seller asked $2500, which Rabbit tried to negotiate, but he was adamant about the set price.
After the seller mentioned other potential buyers, Rabbit and Scooter struck a deal for $2,500. However, while loading the truck, another buyer came and inquired about the truck to the seller. Before anything could be cleared up, Tex Mex Motors' second episode ended.
