After the cancellation of his talk show, Stephen Colbert is regaining his sense of optimism with the South Park Season 27 premiere.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone's adult animated sitcom returned with its 27th season with a bang, featuring a n*de deepfake depiction of US President Donald Trump, who recently signed orders deregulating AI.
In his recent opening monologue, the Emmy Award-winning comedian Stephen Colbert addressed the hilarious bit, which featured a deepfake of Trump wandering in a desert:
“And I completely agree with this one. Because if the government interfered with private AI, innovators at South Park wouldn’t be able to make important videos like this one. That is an important message of hope for our times, and you can check it out right here.'' said Colbert before featuring the clip from the sitcom's premiere.
Stephen Colbert, who is famously known for including segments at the expense of the President, recently came under scrutiny by the CBS network, resulting in the cancellation of his late-night talk show.

South Park Season 27: Stephen Colbert reacts to the sitcom's latest dig at Trump
While worldwide fans and fellow talk show hosts are slamming CBS for their unceremonious cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Trump took to Truth Social and celebrated the news:
“I absolutely love that Colbert’ got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show.”
While CBS gave the 'financial issues' reason to axe Stephen Colbert's show, it continues to enjoy top late-night ratings. In addition, millions of fans extended their support for the late-night show host by slamming the network, even speculating that the decision was somehow related to the merger of CBS-parent Paramount Global with Skydance.
South Park Season 27 premiere took a dig at Trump, referencing his lawsuit against CBS, which was earlier settled by Paramount for $16 million.
Trump was at the centre of attention in the South Park Season 27 premiere
Parker and Stone left no stone unturned in the season 27 premiere, which was a dig at the President and his recent decisions and lawsuits.
The episode featured Trump at the White House in the Oval Office, where he is joined by the Canadian President, seemingly referring to the recent US-Canada tariff war. After the president complains about the size of his manhood in a painting, he climbs into bed with Satan, with the literal devil, suggesting they have a physical relationship.
The South Park premiere even touched upon the Stephen Colbert Show cancellation, after Cartman complained that his favorite radio show is being canceled.
The premiere also touched upon the rumors that Trump is on the Epstein list, which disturbed his 'quality time' with Satan.
Finally, South Park Elementary School invites 'Jesus Christ' to the classroom, resulting in a parents' riot, initiating a $5 billion lawsuit from Trump. One of the angry parents says:
“We all know the woke stuff went too far, but the answer isn’t going too far the other way.''
However, the episode ends with a lawyer telling the townspeople that they need to pay the President $3.5 million and do some “pro-Trump messaging” with a PSA.
South Park Season 27 Episode 3 will air on Comedy Central on July 30, 2025.
