With so many interesting characters in the Star Wars franchise, C-3PO and R2-D2 remain the most iconic duo.
Debuting in 1977's A New Hope, the fictional droids became a fan-favorite duo, even premiering in their 1985 spin-off animated series Star Wars: Droids: The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO.
With Andor Season 2 confirming the origins of another iconic droid, the stage is set for a different droid duo to continue the legacy of R2-D2 and C-3PO, who are none other than K-2SO (Kaytoo) and C1-10P (Chopper).
While Kaytoo is a cynical and sarcastic KX-series enforcer droid, Chopper is best known for its dark humour and cranky demeanour, making them the perfect droid duo, who would complement each other well.
With Andor Season 2 suggesting that the droids were likely together at the Yavin rebel base before the events of Star Wars: Rogue One, their team-up is a high possibility.
More on this in our story.
After Andor Season 2, K-2SO and C1-10P (Chopper) could likely team up in a Star Wars animated series
While nobody can replicate the iconic duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO, Andor Season 2 has likely introduced a new droid duo in town- K-2SO and Chopper.
After debuting in Star Wars: Rogue One, Kaytoo was also featured in Andor Season 2, eventually becoming a key Rebellion asset. Created by the Empire, the droid became a key element for the Rebellion army, albeit with its sarcastic personality.
Chopper made its first live-action appearance in Ahsoka and has since become a popular droid, mainly because of its sarcastic and stubborn personality, which often lands people in trouble.
While they are more sarcastic and irritable than the classic duo of R2-D2 and C-3PO, the droids portray similar and complementary character traits, which can be easily teamed up for a hilarious duo.
After Andor Season 2 confirmed Kaytoo's rebel origins in Star Wars, they can finally team up.
With Chopper at the Rebel base on Yavin. Kaytoo's origins confirm that before the events of Rogue One, both droids were likely together at the Yavin base, which makes their team-up possible in the franchise.
This creates the perfect opportunity for Star Wars to create another iconic droid duo, possibly in an animation series focusing on the tales of the rebellion.
Since the franchise has already invested in Tales of the Jedi and Empire, a mini-series focusing on tales of Rebellion seems highly likely and the perfect opportunity to team up Kaytoo and Chopper.
Kaytoo and Chopper can easily become a 'chaotic good' duo in Star Wars
Another intriguing factor that works in favor of this coupling is that Star Wars already has Threepio and R2-D2 "evil twins" (0-0-0 and BT-1), which debuted in Marvel's canonical comics, 2015's Darth Vader series.
These evil twins served the Dark Lord of the Sith during the Galactic Civil War and were adept in various forms of torture, with BT-1 equipped with firearms and explosives in its teeth.
Since the evil twins are yet to make their animation/live action debut, Kaytoo and Chopper can easily serve as their 'chaotic good' duo, who would put their sarcastic and evil tendencies to good use.
In addition, on its Rogue One debut, Kaytoo was also called an evil version of C-3PO, with IGN describing it as:
"C-3PO's dark, amped up counterpoint. Like Threepio, he has a knack for giving troubling statistics, but instead of speaking with a worried attitude, K-2SO ... has more of a resigned and often amusingly cruel and blunt approach."
Given its dark tendencies, Chopper is the perfect partner to team up with Kaytoo, as it will keep its intensity in check, working in their favor.
