Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan created the American satirical dark comedy slasher series Scream Queens. Between 2015 and 2016, Fox aired two seasons of twenty-three episodes.

In the first season, a killer costumed as the Red Devil stalks members of the sorority Kappa Kappa Tau on Wallace University's campus. In season two, the group meets a new killer known as the Green Meanie, who operates in a hospital. Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Billie Lourd, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Jamie Lee Curtis, and others comprise the ensemble cast. In 2017, the show was cancelled.

Recently, Ian Brennan, a co-creator of Scream Queens, has hinted at a potential Season 3, delighting fans eager for resolution following the show's unexpected Season 2 ending, especially considering its hospital setting. The original cast may return, the horror-comedy combination may be expanded, new storylines may be explored, and unresolved mysteries may be addressed in a revival.

More about Scream Queens season 3 possibility

Scream Queens is one of the most popular TV programs, and it may not be over yet. Fans who have long hoped for the return of the horror-comedy are overjoyed with co-creator Ian Brennan's recent announcement that the show would return for a third season, and Brennan has said that conversations are still ongoing to resuscitate the series and give it the continuation that many think it deserves, despite the absence of formal confirmation.

“It was such a fun, funny show. And we had really good ideas for where it could go next. What was great about that show was that you get to send up all the horror tropes. The first one was college girls. The second one was macabre body horror, a hospital setting, but actually, we were tasked with putting it in that section. What we were going to do in the second season, which I would probably do in a third, would be to set it at a camp. Scream Queens would be set at a Friday the 13th camp.”

Scream Queens earned a reputation for themselves in 2015 by combining sarcastic comedy, slasher-style horror, and satire, and the unique program quickly became popular. This has been possible with its large part to its hilarious banter, exaggerated characters, and elaborate stories. Despite its cult following, many fans were disappointed when the series was cancelled in 2017 after only two seasons. The Chanel sisters' narrative and their volatile universe may not end, as demonstrated by the likelihood of Season 3.

The way Season 2 concluded is a major factor in the fans' expectations. The second season ended with a number of unresolved plots, in contrast to the previous season's nicely wrapped finale. Character arcs and story strands were left dangling by the sudden cancellation, although the hospital-based setting added additional mysteries. Since viewers never found closure, the prospect of a revival is all the more alluring since it may finally bring the story to a close.

Brennan has said that if Season 3 is finished, a significant portion of the original cast would return, and performers like Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Jamie Lee Curtis, who are still strongly associated with the program, would have to return if its initial level of popularity were to be restored. In that interview, Ian Brennan said,

“I mean, Glen Powell, who’s now the movie star of all movie stars, every time I see him, he’s like, ‘You know the thing I get remembered for the most? It’s Chad Radwell,'”

Fans have gone to social media to share their enthusiasm and speculate on prospective narrative lines. Many fans hope that a resurrection will not only solve questions left unanswered by Season 2, but also build on the show's characteristic combination of campy comedy and tension. The talk highlights how Scream Queens has remained relevant years after its cancellation, demonstrating its long-term effect on pop culture.

Discussions are still in their early stages, and networks have yet to divulge any concrete intentions. Nonetheless, Brennan's openness about exploring a revival has sparked renewed interest in the series. The notion of Scream Queens Season 3 provides viewers hope for closure and the chance to rediscover the great world of horror-comedy that the show so bravely created, whether it arrives as a full season or a one-off event.
