The show was created by Nate and Megan Trinrud and premiered on March 9, 2023. After two successful seasons, the series is returning for its third season at the end of this month, exclusively on Paramount+.

School Spirits: Release date and streaming details

School Spirits Season 3 will premiere for Paramount+ subscribers on January 28 (Wednesday), 2026.

Viewers can watch seasons 1 and 2 before watching season 3. This new season will start with the first three episodes on the premiere day. The rest of the episodes will be released each week on Wednesday. The season finale is set for March 4, 2026.

The series is streaming on Paramount+. However, Season 1 is also available on Netflix. You can also access the show at Paramount+ with SHOWTIME add-on on Hulu.

What is School Spirits about?

Nate Trinrud recently explained to ScreenRant how the storyline has evolved from Season 1 to Season 3. He said:

"In season 1, we really focused on Maddie and the things that haunted her. In season 2, we really got to learn more about the ghosts at school and what was haunting all of them. This year, one of the big questions is, "What's haunting Split River?" In the same way that we look at trauma with all of our characters, whether it's generational trauma or things that have been buried in the past, what happens when those things start to be uncovered?"

School Spirits season 3 will follow Maddie Nears and her friends into a deeper and darker mystery as the veils between the worlds grow dangerously. Maddie will struggle with the terrifying visions and the weight of protecting both the dead and the living.

Besides, viewers of School Spirits will see the aftermath of Simon getting trapped in the afterlife and becoming obsessed with the secrets buried in the scars of Split River High. The plot is bringing a new twist that will challenge everything they thought they knew.
