David's strive for the truth and his eventual transformation in Pro Bono ending

This episode of Pro Bono starts with the pro bono team concerned about David’s plan to expose Shin Jung-seok and Oh Gyu-jang. However, David assures them that they will be able to get through. He also indicates that this trial is not like the other trials that they did before. He decides to start the trial with a bold step by calling Oh Gyu-jang as the witness.

Myung-hun tries to evade the situation by telling the judge to dismiss the request, as this situation can get complicated. David then presents the recording as evidence for his request. The recording also had Jung-in’s voice; hence, the recording could easily be accepted as evidence. The news spread quickly, just as David initially wanted it to.

As the episode progresses, a flashback scene shows David confronting Jung-in about her decision to use him to bring her father down. Jung-in accepts the truth, which shocks David. She also gives him the recording that David used in court. Jung-in also warns David that bringing him down is not as easy as he knows how to hide the secrets under the truth. This can be seen right away as the trial gets reassigned to a new senior chief judge who is close to Justice Shin.

The reassigned judge begins to divert the case towards Oh Gyu-jung’s favor; however, David does not back down. He then requests the accomplices to face one another in a confrontational cross-examination to reveal the truth between Jung Hyeon-bae, Shin Jeong-seok, and Oh Gyu-jang. At the end of this episode of Pro Bono, David’s plan is successful as he is able to bring David to confront Oh.

Oh tells David that he sold the seat on the Supreme Court for the outcome of a trial for national interest. Oh was worried because Jang Hyeon-bae was sent to prison. However, he was not the one who did everything; rather, it was Shin Jeong-seok. Oh, then he finally reveals to David the reason he called him. He tells him that he will give David Shin Jung-seok’s post if he works in his favor.

At the trial, David’s abilities shine bright as he charges relentlessly without stopping. He even asks whether the judge is afraid of the turn of events. Just then, Oh arrives for the trial. The trial goes just as David planned it to be, giving him success. It cannot be denied that the distinct transformation that David goes through in the series leaves an impact. At the end, he decides to start an independent pro bono law firm to help the people who are unable to get the justice they deserve.
