Netflix's action comedy drama FUBAR Season 2 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Monica Barbaro, and Milan Carter was released on June 12, 2025. Created by Nick Santora, this series delves into the lives of the father-daughter duo, Luke and Emma Brunner, who serve as secret CIA operatives.

The series follows Luke Brunner, a CIA operative on the verge of retirement, who is pulled in for one last case to save a fellow agent-turns out it's his daughter, Emma. When they learn the truth about their professions, they realize they hardly know anything about each other. In FUBAR Season 1, Luke (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is in full dad mode, doing whatever it takes to keep Emma safe from the dangers of their profession. However, things turn a bit overwhelming when he interferes in her love life, which causes Carter to break off with her.

The 77-year-old Golden Award-winning actor and former bodybuilding champion has been a part of several projects, including The Terminator, Stay Hungry, and Predator, to name a few. Throughout his career, Arnold Schwarzenegger was mostly a part of classic action movies. He did not do traditional rom-com often, but some of his films, such as True Lies and Junior, did have elements of romance and comedy.

However, in Netflix's action-packed comedy series FUBAR Season 2, we finally get to see Arnold Schwarzenegger in a rom-com scene that screams he's made for such roles.

The scene unfolds in FUBAR Season 2 Episode 3 Tango and Smash as we see Schwarzenegger's character Luke Brunner shares an unexpected yet hilariously sweet interaction with Greta, a former East German spy (Carrie-Ann Moss). Greta, one of Luke's old flames, tries to make a sexy move (pole dancing and lap dancing, yeah that wild!), but she slips and falls right near Luke's crotch. When Luke tells her:

"You grazed the sausage, but you crushed the beans. But on the bright side, I think the shock cleared my head."

The scene could have been quite cringeworthy, but Schwarzenner's over-the-top expressions make it work. Luke even jokes about it, making the awkward encounter funny.

What follows next is an honest conversation about the dangers of spy work, as Luke admits that his brains stop functioning after any fight. It turns into an honest and warm moment that shows the human side of a character.

Additionally, Schwarzenegger's romance/chemistry with Moss feels easy and real. There's a flirty spark between them that doesn't feel forced. When Greta reminds Luke about her wild helicopter escape, Luke's face lights up. For a moment, he looks like a fan who's in awe of Greta's skills.

In this scene, Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't trying to win us over with action. Instead, we see a softer side to him; the dialogue delivery, flirty remarks, and his comedic timing make the scene look incredibly effortless.

From Twins to Kindergarten Cop, Schwarzenegger had always had great comedic instincts, but FUBAR Season 2 gives him a chance to explore a different side, to blend humor and romance. For a bit, he's not involved in some adrenaline-filled, over-the-top hero antics; instead, his charm and vulnerability do the magic.

The episode proves that Arnold Schwarzenegger can effortlessly ace rom-com spy roles.
