Outlander: Blood of My Blood is the much-anticipated prequel of Starz’ hit historical fantasy drama, Outlander. The show will focus on the love stories of two couples: the respective parents of Jamie Fraser and Claire Fraser from the original series.

Starz has now officially announced the premiere date of the show, confirming that it is arriving pretty soon. Outlander: Blood of My Blood is all set to debut on August 8, 2025, which means fans have to endure only a four-month-long wait to watch the prequel series.

The show is set in two different timelines. While Jamie’s parents – Ellen and Brian – met in 18th-century Scotland, Claire’s parents – Julia and Henry – fell in love during World War I. Both couples have to brace through various challenges to fulfill their love stories, which would make the show an engaging romantic drama like the original.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere on Starz in August 2025

On Wednesday, Starz confirmed the premiere date of Outlander: Blood of My Blood as August 8, 2025. The first season will feature 10 episodes, which will be aired weekly on Fridays at 8 PM ET/PT. The show will also stream on the Starz app.

The series was announced back in 2022, with filming taking place from January to July 2024. The prequel follows the romance between Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie, as well as Henry Beauchamp and Julia Moriston. The official logline reads:

β€œ[The show] brings viewers from the war-torn battlefields of WWI to the sweeping Highlands of 18th century Scotland, promising two new love stories filled with loyalty, passion, and desire, as the young couples defy the forces that seek to tear them apart.”

Created by Matthew B. Roberts, Outlander: Blood of My Blood stars Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie, Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston, and Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp.

The rest of the cast includes Tony Curran as Lord Lovat, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, SΓ©amus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Brian McCardie as Isaac Grant, Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan, Jhon Lumsden as Malcolm Grant, and Sara Vickers as Davina Porter.

B. Roberts also executive produces the show along with Maril Davis, Ronald D. Moore, and Jim Kohlberg. Meanwhile, Outlander continues to be one of the most popular shows on Starz. The series has so far aired seven seasons, and an eighth and final chapter has already been confirmed.

Based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels, the original series follows Claire, a former nurse during the WWII era, who is mysteriously transported to 18th-century Scotland, where she meets and falls in love with a warrior named Jamie Fraser.
