It’s official! Grammy-nominated comedian Nate Bargatze will host the 77th Annual Emmy Awards. The news was first shared by Variety, and fans couldn’t be more excited.

The Emmy Awards will air live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14, starting at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. You can catch it on CBS or stream it live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Nate Bargatze didn’t take the usual Hollywood route to fame. He carved out his own path in comedy clubs, slowly building a loyal fanbase with his down-to-earth humor and Southern charm.

Nate isn’t just funny, he’s famously kind. In an industry full of sarcasm and edginess, Bargatze stands out for being genuine, warm, and relatable. That’s part of what’s made him a fan favorite.

In a heartfelt statement, Nate shared:

“It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.”

Who is Nate Bargatze?

If you haven’t heard of Nate yet, you’re in for a treat. Dubbed “the nicest man in stand-up,” Nate Bargatze is a beloved comedian, podcaster, author, producer, and director.

Over the years, he’s gained a massive following thanks to his easy-going and family-friendly comedy. No crude jokes or politics, just real-life stories, awkward moments, and hilarious takes on everyday life.

According to Cris Abrego, Chair of the Television Academy:

“Nate is one of the hottest comics in the business with a remarkable and hilarious brand of comedy that deeply resonates with multi-generational audiences around the globe.”

Abrego also mentioned how excited they are to bring Nate’s unique sense of humor to the Emmy stage:

“We are thrilled to be able to leverage his one-of-a-kind perspective to entertain TV fans watching this year’s Emmy telecast.”

That’s a pretty solid endorsement.

Nate’s been very busy lately. He’s released three Netflix specials, with the most recent one titled “Your Friend, Nate Bargatze”, which dropped in December. Like his other work, it’s full of laugh-out-loud moments and feel-good humor.

Hosting SNL is a major achievement in any comedian’s career, and Nate nailed it. His performance won rave reviews and introduced his style to millions who hadn’t seen him before.

It was one of those “he’s really made it” moments.

With Nate hosting, you can expect a fun, light-hearted Emmy show that’s safe for the whole family to enjoy. That’s exactly what he’s aiming for.

That wholesome vibe is rare at awards shows, and it might just make this year’s Emmys feel extra special.
