Gen V Season 2 has finally set its premiere date. Prime Video has confirmed that the show will return to the television screens on September 17, 2025, two years after the first season released.
The announcement was made with a teaser trailer, which sees the return of Marie Moreau, Emma Meyer, Cate, Derek, and Sam. The group has an unprecedented challenge ahead of them as things have changed significantly at Godolkin University.
Meanwhile, the teaser also features cameos of two members of the Seven from The Boys as The Deep and Firecracker make an entry into the spin-off. At the same time, the gore and violence that the franchise is known for continue in Gen V Season 2.
Gen V Season 2 sets release date on Prime Video with teaser trailer
The Gen V Season 2 teaser begins by showcasing the aftermath of the bloodbath at Godolkin, which happened at the end of Season 1. Marie, Emma, and Jordan Li find themselves locked at the Elmira Adult Rehabilitation Center. Their superpowers have been blocked, and they are forced to wear neck bands.
Soon, they are brought back to Godolkin, which does not seem like the same school they had left. Following Indira Shetty’s death, Cipher has joined the university as the new dean and has turned it into a combat arena where young Supes are forced to fight.
Meanwhile, the teaser also showcases how Gen V Season 2 is going to address Chance Perdomo’s death. The actor, who played Andre, tragically passed away just before the shoot of the second season in a motorcycle accident.
Instead of recasting the character, the creators chose to make changes in the story. In the teaser, Andre’s father is seen worried about his son’s whereabouts. The official synopsis of the new season by Prime Video reads:
“As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss.”
The returning cast members this season include Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li, and Asa Germann as Samuel "Sam" Riordan.
Hamish Linklater has joined the show as Cipher. The Boys' Chace Crawford and Valorie Curry will make guest appearances as The Deep and Firecracker, respectively.
