Fans of C-dramas have been waiting for Love Between Lines for a long time, and the series is finally here. This new drama brings together elements of mystery and suspense and is adapted from a novel written by Zule. While love remains the main element of the story, the C-drama is also packed with hidden identities, secrets, and a virtual reality game that brings the main leads together.

Episode 1 of Love Between Lines shows Hu Xiu’s life falls apart on the very day meant to mark a new beginning. During her engagement banquet, her fiancé suddenly ended their relationship through a voice message played in front of all the guests. Humiliated and heartbroken, Hu Xiu sinks into depression and shuts herself away.

Upon her return to the game Hu Xiu is now stronger, has greater strategy and an entirely different persona as she uses her relationship with Qin Xiaoyi to further her goal of taking him down and eliminating him as a competitor.

She uses deception, deceitful acts, and a calculated plan to remove Qin from power and help return the individual to his former position of authority who helped her at one time.

Having achieved this, she turned to her boss with the same determination, quitting her job after years of promises that had never been kept. She was subsequently able to confront her former fiancé's family and assert herself on behalf of her parents and herself.

She is unemployed at this moment, but stays active in the murder mystery club, especially during sessions featuring Qin Xiaoyi. Hu Xiu enjoys working with Qin Xiaoyi as it gives her the ability to show off her architectural skills while overcoming fear and danger while trying to decipher the clever mysteries that are presented during these games.

Although they are working together as a team, Qin Xiaoyi chooses to value his own victory over loyalty to Hu Xiu. Later when Hu Xiu was having trouble financially, she decided to rent out a portion of her home to make money.

Unbeknownst to her, Hu Xiu leased the portion of her home to Qin Xiaoyi, marking the beginning of their offline rivalry spilling over into the real world. By episode 4, Hui Xiu meets Xiao Zhi Yu as he's living in her building now. The two share the same passion for architecture, and Hu is excited to start her new journey now that she's no longer working as an assistant.
