The November 8 episode of Jeopardy! welcomed the returning champion Susan Stumme, who ended Greg Jolin's winning reign on the Thursday episode. The other two participants to join the Friday episode were Rachel Marcus, a writer and consultant from New York, and Ross Dickson, a research consultant from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Jeopardy round had the following categories:
"SURROUNDED BY WATER// SHOE BIZ// "I"-FAN// THROWBACK TECHNOLOGY// HISTORICAL FICTION// MAY I HAVE YOUR HOMOGRAPH?"
Susan was quick to catch up with the lead, as the other two participants took a little longer to grasp it. After the first commercial, Susan was leading with $6,000, Rachel stood second with $1200, and Ross was in third place with $200. As the round progressed, all three players gave a tough fight to each other; however, Susan maintained the lead as the round ended.
For the Double Jeopardy round, the categories were:
"BALLET & OPERA// 4-SYLLABLE WORDS// LEGAL BRIEFS// THE HISTORIC 1950s// I SING...// THE BODY ELECTRIC"
Susan and Rachel fought for the lead as Ross tried to catch up on his performance. However, Ross earned himself $6,400 with a Daily Double, pushing him to stand at par with the ladies. As the second round ended abruptly because the alarm started beeping, Ken Jenning announced it was time for the Final Jeopardy round.
Before entering the Final Jeopardy round, Susan and Roass tied with $14,600, and Rachel stood second with $12,200.

As the Double Jeopardy round ended, all three players maintained a strong stance. Although Susan and Ross were in the lead when the Double Jeopardy round ended, the game just dipped as the last round, Final Jeopardy revealed. For the Final Jeopardy round, Ken announced the category, which was "RENAISSANCE MEN."
The clue for the Final Jeopardy round on November 8, 2024, was:
"In a letter he wrote, “On August 7, 1501 … we determined that the new land was not an island but a continent.”
Rachel, who had been at the bottom so far in the game, wagered her chances, and it turned out great for her as she became the new champion of Jeopardy! game night. For the final clue, all three participants came up with their answers. However, only Rachel had the right answer, and Susan and Ross guessed the wrong answers, making them lose almost all their money in the wager.
Susan and Ross wagered $14,600 and $14,590, respectively, as they both guessed "Columbus" as the answer. Rachel wagered $8,400 and came up with the correct answer earning her total winning amount of $20,600. The correct answer for the Final Jeopardy clue was:
"What is Amerigo Vespucci?"
