Cameras stopped rolling on July 1, 2025, in Toronto as the final scenes of The Boys Season 5 wrapped up. Jack Quaid has spent the past five years playing Hughie Campbell in The Boys Season 5, growing alongside his character.

Jack Quaid says,

“It’s bittersweet”

To say goodbye to the Vought Tower sets and the close friends he made during those long days on The Boys Season 5.

He adds,

“I’m proud of what we achieved, but I’ll miss this world and everyone who made it feel like home.”

Quaid noted that few actors get to end a series on their terms, which has made this farewell even more meaningful. From late‑night script reads to intense stunt work, every chapter of The Boys Season 5 helped shape both Hughie’s path and Quaid’s career.

When Quaid stepped off the Vought Tower set for the last time, he said his main feeling was gratitude. He told fans that few actors get to end a show on their terms, and he knows how lucky he is to have had this journey. From early rehearsals to filming intense action scenes, he and the rest of the cast formed bonds that go beyond a typical workplace.

Even though the set will be torn down soon, Quaid said he’ll carry memories of jokes, late-night reads of new scripts, and moments of genuine support forever. This chapter in The Boys Season 5 has meant more to him than any other role.

More than five seasons have passed; Hughie has become a major player on the team of Butcher as a grieving bystander. In Season 5 of The Boys, we will witness how he is put to the test and asked hard questions on loyalty and justice. According to Quaid, the moral compass of Hughie has always been the centerpiece of the series and has shown the fans what the personalities are and how it puts Vought entirely in a state of corruption and mayhem.

Though specific details of the plot are kept secret, Quaid assured fans that explanations of why Hughie was what he was will have a satisfying conclusion. His transformation is the same as the overall themes of the show, how an average person can rise against huge interests when their voices are not silenced.

The Boys Season 5 started principal photography on November 25, 2024, and completed on July 1, 2025, with months of filming in and around Toronto. The producers of the final season of the show, showrunner Eric Kripke and crew, did not falter in their mandates in ensuring that the final season was consistent with the dark comedy and pace of the action in the show.

With the cameras rolling as the new characters, such as the appearance of Soldier Boy and surprise guest cameos, cast members posted their photos and appreciation messages on social media. Jack Quaid also remarked that it was the bond of family that was the driving force behind the show, and whenever all people were gathered, whether it was stunt teams or costume designers, he also felt the reminder of such a family.

The Boys Season 5 is the final chapter of this story, but that does not mean that Jack Quaid is not searching for new roles, such as the action-comedy movie Heads of State. He acknowledges that Hughie will always have a special place in his heart.

Quaid suggested that viewers should watch out, and one day this world may be revisited in the form of spin-offs or specials, but at the moment, he is busy with new problems. Whatever that may unfold, his appearance in Season 5 will always be remembered as one of the greatest things, because one of the strongest narratives makes the strongest impression upon people who experience it, as well as upon actors who bring it to life.
