It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia never fails to surprise its viewers; however, one Season 4 episode manages to be the most surprising and entertaining episode to date. The musical performance in Season 4 episode 13 remains one of the most fan-favorite sequences in the show so far, owing to its perfect depiction of what makes It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia so great.

The dark humor lyrics and the extremely catchy music continue to be some of the best from the show, making fans hopeful for a sequel episode. It has been 12 seasons since the musical episode first featured, but its effect continues to reverberate on the show, so the demand for a sequel to this episode comes as no surprise.

In a recent conversation with Screen Rant, co-creator and actor Glenn Howerton revealed that the makers are always looking for ideas regarding a sequel to the episode, but have not landed on anything worthwhile as of now.

The Season 4 Episode 13 episode, The Nightman Cometh, stands as one of the most fan-favorite episodes and arguably the best from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Charlie's manipulative motive to pressure the Waitress into saying yes to his proposal through the musical and the songs in it was a perfect encapsulation of the show's dark and funny humor, which has continued to entice the viewers for years.

The musical's effect on the show was so great that after its release, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia has adapted the entertainment and jazz that come with musicals into their regular show formats. However, nothing has been able to replicate the original catchy music and manipulative dark lyrics of the song as seen in the original episode, leading to fans desperately wanting a sequel to it.

In a recent conversation at the Paley Center for the premiere of the 17th season, which will release on July 9, as well as a celebration for the 20th anniversary of the show, Howerton revealed that the creative team is constantly on the lookout for some ideas to work on a sequel for the musical episodes. However, none of these ideas have been worthwhile to turn into the sequel so far.

"We've talked about it many times. It just hasn't happened yet. I think we've all floated out ideas over the years as to what it would be, but nothing has quite stuck yet. I would like to do it. I think we would all like to do some sort of a follow-up to The Nightman Cometh at some point; it just hasn't happened yet. But the desire is there."

It is not exactly bad news that there is no update on a follow-up to It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia's The Nightman Cometh, since it is very hopeful that the creative team is looking for a worthy follow-up to one of the best episodes instead of settling for something mediocre. And there's no doubt that Charlie will soon come up with some other over-the-top reason to write and direct a musical.

Whatever they do come up with needs to be something truly extraordinary and controversial if it is supposed to follow up Charlie writing an entire musical and directing the gang to perform it, as a ruse, to propose to the waitress in a manipulative setup, who ends up turning him down (thankfully), despite the exorbitantly elaborate efforts that he went through.
