With a TV show combining horror, fantasy, drama, and exciting adventures, most of the fans would remember Supernatural. It features the Winchester brothers embarking on an adventure to hunt eerie beings.
These range from scary monsters and deadly demons to powerful gods and angels. The brothers begin with a simple revenge quest but soon find themselves on a gigantic, world-saving adventure.
The show, developed by Eric Kripk,e first aired in 2005 and had a successful 15-season run until 2020. Jared Padalecki plays Sam, while Jensen Ackles plays Dean, and fans adore venturing back to the brothers' journey.
However, Supernatural will leave Netflix this year, possibly on December 18, 2025. This means that all 15 seasons and 327 episodes will no longer be available on the platform after that date.
This decision isn't random — it's actually related to a licensing agreement between Netflix (the streaming platform that picked up the show) and The CW (the network that originally aired the show). When Supernatural wrapped in November 2020, Netflix was granted the rights to stream the show for five years following the finale episode's airing.
That five-year timeframe ends in late 2025, which is why the show is set to depart the platform then. So, if you've been enjoying the TV series on Netflix, make sure to complete it before it moves to another streaming giant.

Supernatural will leave Netflix in late 2025

Fans have been curious about the fate of Supernatural on Netflix, and as explained above, the show will depart from the platform this year. Why? The key reason behind this decision is the non-renewal of the deal between The CW and Netflix.
The agreement allowed the streaming service to hold exclusive rights to CW shows for about five years after the finale airs on the network. So, Eric Kripke's show concluded in 2020, which means those rights naturally expire in December 2025.
This alliance between Netflix and The CW began in 2011. It enabled Netflix to stream a lot of The CW's most-viewed programming after it completed on television. The deal was renegotiated over the years, but in 2019, it was decided to terminate the agreement for any future CW series.
But series such as Supernatural, which had already been included in the previous deal, were permitted to remain on Netflix for another couple of years until the five-year limit.
That is why the fan-adored series was still streaming on Netflix up until now and was safe under the cover of that 2011 deal. However, when that five-year grace period runs out in 2025, the show will no longer be available to stream on Netflix.

Where will Supernatural go after Netflix?

After learning that the acclaimed show will leave Netflix soon, fans might look for it on other streaming platforms. Reportedly, Supernatural is expected to land on a Warner Bros. Discovery-owned platform, most likely HBO Max (also known simply as Max).
Warner Bros. owns the rights to the show, so it makes sense that the series would move to one of their own services. This trend has become more common lately. Instead of licensing shows out to companies like Netflix, studios are choosing to keep their content on their own streaming platforms.
Can I still watch Supernatural right now?

Yes, you can! As of now, it's still available in full on Netflix, with all episodes ready to stream. This will remain the case until December 18, 2025.
Besides Netflix, you can also buy episodes or seasons digitally from other platforms. In some cases, a few seasons may also be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, depending on where you live.
