FBI: International is the third series in the FBI franchise, created by Dick Wolf and Derek Haas.
The show follows the Fly Team under the FBI, which operates through their headquarters in Budapest to catch the criminals before they reach the US.
While the show is primarily set in Budapest, the team often adventures in cities from all over Europe to investigate and diffuse the threat. FBI: International is primarily shot in Europe to make the show more authentic. Most of the parts of this police procedural are shot in Budapest, Hungary.
The show premiered on September 21, 2021, and launched its Season 4 in October 2024. Like the other series in the franchise, it has also enjoyed success and praise from fans.

1) Budapest, Hungary
Setting for the show's headquarters, the primary filming for the series took place in Budapest, Hungary. Season 4 is shot in Szeged, Hungary. Here are some of the iconic locations from Budapest featured on the show:
- Castle Garden Bazaar, originally built in 1875 and 1883, is featured in the show's pilot. After renovation, it is now a complex with gardens, restaurants, and theaters.
- Fisherman's Bastion is featured in the opening scenes of Season 1, Episode 2
- Liberty Bridge, an iconic Hungarian symbol and mythical turul
- Great Market Hall, an indoor market near Liberty Bridge
- Szekesfehervar, historic downtown area in Hungary
- Drechsler Palace
2) Prague
The city was first seen on FBI: International in Season 1 Episode 7, where the team was investigating the murder of the American founder of an illegal adults-only website in Prague. The Czech capital was a primary location for that episode.
The team returned to this location for shooting again in Season 3, when areas around Prague's city center were reserved for the show's shooting. The Old Town Square in Prague was one of the locations used. Areas around Týnská, Masná, Platnéřská, and Seminářská streets were also reserved for the cast.
3) Tuscany, Italy
The team heads to Tuscany for a special episode in Season 3, Episode 7, titled "Andiamo!". The case involves the kidnapping of an American couple's son, which takes the team to Tuscany when suspicions start arising at the Italian mafia.
Actress Vinessa Vidotto talked about her experience of shooting in Tuscany with TV Insider,
''It was wonderful to film in Tuscany, although we didn’t arrive at the best timing for weather. It was very rainy and gloomy, but beautiful, nonetheless. I loved all the hills...I’ve never known about the bunkers and tunnels in Tuscany''
4) Croatia
Serviced by Croatia's Embassy studios, some parts of the show were shot in Pula, a Croatian city. Pula, the largest city in Istria County, is famous for its coastal towns and historical sites.
The Forum, an aerial view of the Roman amphitheater, and the Arch of the Sergii are some iconic locations and shots that were included in the show.
In addition, the city of Rovinj in Croatia was also used as another filming location for FBI: International. Grand Park Hotel Rovinj and Mulini Beach are some of the iconic locations from the city that can be spotted in the show.
5) Oslo, Norway
