CBS’s hit drama series Tracker may bring back a fan favorite on the show, Bobby Exley. The series follows a skilled tracker and survivalist, Colter Shaw (played by Justin Hartley), who makes a living by solving crime cases for private citizens and law enforcement. Bobby (portrayed by Eric Graise) is a computer hacker who works with Colter. He last appeared on the show in Season 2, episode 9. Bobby’s cousin Randy (played by Chris Lee), who takes his place, informs Colter that Bobby is away to deal with some personal issues.
When Bobby suddenly departed from the show, the fans were left wondering about the character’s future as neither the network nor the actor shared any update. However, the audience may see Bobby and Randy work side-by-side. Fiona Rene, who portrays the role of Reenie on the show, teased about his possible return during an interview with TVInsider. She said,
“…can we just talk about Randy for a second? I love Chris Lee with everything in my body. He’s been such a wonderful addition to the Bobby dynamic, and I am very excited to see them together.”
Ben H. Winters created Tracker for CBS, based on Jeffery Deaver's book The Never Game. The series stars Justin Hartley, Eric Graise, Fiona Rene, Sofia Pernas, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, and Floriana Lima, among others. It has been renewed for Season 3 on CBS.
What happened to Bobby on Tracker Season 2?
Bobby last appeared in episode 9 titled ‘The Disciple'. He helped Colter find a serial killer who was behind the murder of Gina Picket, a woman who had disappeared after work. In episode 10, Bobby’s cousin Randy, a computer expert, informs Colter that he will be assisting him with cases. Colter recalls working with him on a case previously.
While Bobby never explains himself, Randy shares with Colter that Bobby was dealing with a family issue. Bobby remained missing from the show for five episodes.
Will Bobby return to Tracker?
In episode 15 titled ‘The Grey Goose’, during a conversation with Colter, Randy shares that he has been constantly texting Bobby but has yet to get an answer from him.
Randy informs that Bobby had gone to attend the funeral of his friend. He also shares that the deceased friend was like a brother to him, and Bobby was having a difficult time processing the grief. Randy points at Bobby’s return when he says,
“He will get back to it — and if he doesn’t then I will make sure he does..No way out but through.”
Fans are hopeful of Bobby’s return as the show confirmed that the character still exists on the show, albeit off-screen. If Bobby is really missing, it would lead to Colter setting out to find him. But the future of Bobby’s return remains to be seen.
