The K-drama Head Over Heels is quickly becoming a fan favorite and has managed to maintain the No. 1 spot in ratings since it first aired. It premiered on June 23, 2025, and immediately drew attention for its engaging plot.
In addition to strong general viewership, the drama did especially well among tvN's target audience aged 20 to 49, hitting a 2.0% peak rating for that demographic. This made it the best premiere for a Monday-Tuesday drama on tvN in 2025 so far.
This fantasy romance drama is adapted from a well-loved webtoon by Ahn Su-min. At its core, it is about a high school girl named Park Seong-ah, who seems ordinary by day, but at night, she leads a secret life as a powerful shaman known as Fairy Cheonji. She has special spiritual powers that allow her to see the future and communicate with spirits.
The story begins when a mysterious young man named Bae Gyeon-u, who is cursed with a destiny of early death, stumbles into Seong-ah’s temple walking upside down. She realizes that Gyeon-u will die in 21 days, and she must do everything to save him.

Head Over Heels Episode 3 recap: The introduction of the evil shaman during Seong-ah's quest

Episode 3 begins with the introduction of a mysterious new shaman who, unlike Seong-ah and her spirit mother Dongcheon, serves dark and harmful spirits. Meanwhile, General Dongcheon travels to a nearby village to cleanse a haunted house plagued by a strong and dangerous spirit.
At the same time, Seong-ah focuses on protecting Gyeon-u, who is slipping into depression after the death of his grandmother. His emotional vulnerability draws the suicide ghost, putting his life at even greater risk.
To help her, Dongcheon gives Seong-ah new spiritual guidance that may be key to saving Gyeon-u. As the Head Over Heels episode continues, Seong-ah continues following Gyeon-u closely, determined to protect him at all costs. Though Gyeon-u remains confused and a bit overwhelmed by her presence, he doesn’t push her away.
Ji-ho, always by Seong-ah’s side, stays quietly supportive even when her actions attract unwanted attention. Head Over Heels Episode 3 ends with Seong-ah and Gyeon-u's bonds getting stronger, with Ji-ho feeling a bit awkward when he sees his best friend prioritizing her crush.

Head Over Heels Episode 4 recap: Gyeon-u gets closer to Seong-ah and Ji-ho, for not for long

The fourth episode opens with Seong-ah incredibly happy about the last day she held hands with Gyeon-u. She is so overjoyed that she couldn't stop herself from discussing this moment indirectly with her clients at the shrine.
Ji-ho, meanwhile, openly voices his discomfort about the growing closeness between Seong-ah and Gyeon-u. He makes it clear he doesn’t want to be a third wheel, hinting at a developing love triangle. Despite his own feelings, he watches as Seong-ah keeps fighting small spirits in the background while also hiding her true identity as a shaman.
The haunted house subplot from the previous episode continues to unfold, with Dongcheon confirming the evil energy inside it is too strong for her to handle alone. She gathers other shamans, including Seong-ah, to help her face the threat. Together, they perform powerful rituals in an attempt to weaken the spirits.
As Head Over Heels Episode 4 comes to an end, an evil shaman named Yeon Hwa is revealed to be connected to Gyeon-u's past. The flashback reveals that she performed rituals on Gyeonn-u when he was young, and since then, he has been hating shamans.
