From Vincenzo to Our Movie: Jeon Yeo-been talks about her latest character in the upcoming K-drama

Missing Jeon Yeo-been from the hit K-drama Vincenzo? Good news — she is making a comeback in a new K-drama soon! Yes, you read that right.

It has been four years since we saw Yeon-been as the high-powered, sharp-tongued lawyer who teams up with Vincenzo Cassano. The actress was lauded for her acting skills, and fans can now look forward to another heartwarming ride through her new Kdrama, Our Movie.

Jeon Yeo-been will star in Our Movie alongside actor Namkoong Min. It will follow the emotional journey of two people who are going through personal struggles and eventually find healing and love along the way through filmmaking.

In a recent interview with Soompi, the actress opened up about her role and said that she was drawn to the melodrama because of:

"Namkoong Min’s strong but meticulously radiant acting, and director Lee Jung Heum’s unpredictable directing style."

The Dark Nuns star will be seen playing a character named Lee Da-eum, who happens to be an actress. Yeo-been was looking for a lively character to play, and then she got Da-eum's role. The actress shared:

"I really wanted to try playing a lively character like Lee Da-eum. When I first saw Da Eum in the script, I thought she was just like sunshine."

Not only this, Jeon Yeo-been also described Da-eum as someone who lights up people around her. The fictional character is like "both sunrise and sunset."

Jeon Yeo-been set to shine in emotional new series Our Movie

As previously explained, Jeon Yeo-been is all set to return to our screens, but this time in a calm and emotional character. In the K-drama Our Movie, Da-eum will find herself battling a rare illness with no known cure

Although the future looks uncertain for her health, she maintains a spirited demeanor and embraces life fully. Her involvement in a film project about terminal illness becomes a transformative experience, allowing her to live out her dream of acting while confronting her mortality.

To bring an authentic portrayal on the screen, Yeo-been deeply focused on Da-eum's "inner world". The actress said:

"To fully portray the many sides of Da Eum, I focused on her inner world while playing her."

She continues:

"The main character in 'White Love' is in a situation similar to Da Eum's. So I depicted actress Da Eum naturally becoming immersed in the world of 'White Love.'"

As for her co-star, Namkoong Min takes on the character of Lee Je-ha, a film director who once achieved critical acclaim with his debut work. However, he faces a creative setback, struggling to replicate his initial success.

Je-ha's decision to create a film centered on terminal illness leads him to collaborate with Da-eum, whose real-life experiences bring authenticity to the project. As the film production progresses, the professional relationship between Je-ha and Da-eum deepens into a personal connection.

Apart from Jeon Yeo-been and Namkoong Min, the upcoming K-drama also stars other talented actors, including Lee Seol, Seo Hyun-woo, and a few more. Initially slated for tvN, Our Movie will come out on SBS on June 13, 2025.
