After its premiere on February 28, 2024, Elsbeth made a comeback with a second season the same year it began airing, on October 18. A spin-off of The Good Fight and The Good Wife, the show follows Elsbeth Tascioni, a rather unconventional lawyer who works with the NYPD.

The second season has 20 episodes, which is a whopping jump of 10 more in comparison to the first season. The episodes follow a weekly release schedule as the new ones air every Thursday, which means Elsbeth Season 2 Episode 17 will release on April 10, 2025 on CBS.

The official synopsis of Elsbeth Season 2, Episode 17 reads,

“Elsbeth visits the historic and elite funeral home owned by Arthur Greene Jr. when his conspiracy-minded nephew goes missing; Elsbeth continues to adjust to Kaya's new role.”

As the synopsis surmises, the comedy-drama will continue treading on the theme of intrigue and mystery, where Elsbeth will be tackling a case of disappearance with her unique perspective. The dynamic relationship between different people at the funeral home is also likely to be touched upon and might aid in providing a clue to solve the case of the missing nephew. Moreover, in addition to her professional life, this episode will also explore Elsbeth's personal development. Now that Kaya has undertaken a new role, it will focus on how Elsbeth is navigating their relationship.

This episode also rings true with what series creator Michelle King had told The Warp about Elsbeth’s character,

“[This is] someone who is always underestimated, and who is more intuitive than anyone else in the room. She has that distracted quality that allows people to think she doesn’t really understand what’s going on when, in fact, she’s three laughs ahead of them. That lent itself to this structure of story.”
