Netflix's newest comedy drama, Sirens, released on 22nd May 2025, and it has an interesting easter egg. The show follows Devon, who is concerned about her younger sister, Simone's new boss, and tries to convince her to come home. As a result, strange events take place in a luxurious beach house.

Sirens, created by Molly Smith Metzler, is based on her 2011 play Elemeno Pea. Tudum by Netflix explains the show's premise as,

Devon thinks her sister Simone has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell. Michaela’s cultish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention, but she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of one explosive weekend at the Kells’ lavish beach estate, Sirens is an incisive, s*xy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class.

In a Reddit post, a netizen, who has presumably watched the show, writes,

Sooo did anyone else catch Cloe’s reference in episode 3 to her being a nail tech from Florida…which is who she played in Claws?? @PersephoneBee3094

Did you notice the easter egg? If you did not, let us explain the context in this article.

Easter egg in Sirens episode three

In the third episode of Sirens, Simone starts her day by waking up from a nightmare and arguing with Devon, who tearfully admits she’s been struggling with alcoholism since Simone left for college. Devon also reveals she’s been arrested twice for DUI, shocking Simone.

In a touching conversation, Simone tells Michaela how her mother killed herself with Simone in the car, and Michaela comforts her. Michaela also subtly warns Simone about Ethan and his spending problem.

As the Sirens episode carries on, we see that Michaela suspects her husband, Peter, might be cheating after discovering the chocolate he gave her, supposedly from Tokyo, is fake. Michaela sends Simone to follow Peter. He catches her and explains that he secretly traveled to meet his grandson for the first time. He hadn’t told Michaela because of her strained relationship with his children.

After opening up, Peter unexpectedly tries to kiss Simone, but she turns him down. Throughout the day, Simone tries to reach Ethan with no luck. Devon begins to suspect Michaela knows more than she’s saying. They head to Ethan’s house to investigate, only for Ethan to return with Bruce and his caregiver, Raymond. To everyone’s surprise, Ethan proposes to Simone on the spot.

There is a detail in episode three of Sirens that many might have missed out on. In the episode, Devon is in the car with Cloe, Lisa, and Astrid (played by Jenn Lyon, Erin Neufer, and Emily Borromeo, respectively), also collectively referred to as The Fates. Michaela has apparently sent Devon out with the three other women for a 'girls' day', but Devon has no recollection of agreeing to such a plan.

As the day goes on, Devon is taken by 'The Fates' to an expensive boutique to try on clothes, and as the conversation flows, Devon says how she cannot accept a dress from Michaela because it's too expensive, and she is just a

''Fast-food cashier in Buffalo.''

To make her feel better, 'The Fates' say what they used to do earlier, and Cloe says,

''I was a nail tech in Florida.''

This scene in Sirens is an easter egg to Jenn Lyon's role in Claws. In the show Claws, Lyon played the character Jennifer Husser, who was a nail tech. Since the show was based in Florida, she was technically a nail tech in Florida in Claws. This dialogue seems like a slight nod or easter egg referring to Lyon's past role.

Sirens is currently streaming on Netflix.
