Meet the cast of Diary of a Ditched Girl: Who stars in the romantic Nordic series?
Netflix has released another heartwarming teaser for its upcoming Swedish romantic series.
The trailer follows Amanda as she navigates the complex waters of online dating, along with her friends. In addition to some exciting clips from the show, the trailer also introduces the promising cast, led by Swedish actress Carla Sehn.
Carla Sehn already has two Netflix Swedish titles under her name, including the recently released and highly popular Nordic noir series The Åre Murders, where she played the lead role of Hanna Ahlander. Sehn has also appeared in Netflix's Love & Anarchy, Sick and Anxious People.
The actress will play the lead role of Amanda, a 31-year-old single woman navigating the tough waters of online dating. Staying true to the title Diary of a Ditched Girl, Amanda's dating life looks like a mess from the trailer.
Swedish actress Moah Madsen will play the role of Adina, Amanda's friend. She has previously appeared in Vikings and (Wo)men.
The supporting cast for Diary of a Ditched Girl includes Johannes Lindkvist as Emil Wester (The Bridge, Bror), Kit Walker Johansson as Amanda's neighbor (Faithless), Isac Calmroth as Adina's boyfriend (The Ugly Stepsister), Victor Ivan as The Consultant (The Quiet Ones) and Adam Dahlstrom as The Bartender (The Imaginary State).
What is Diary of a Ditched Girl about?
Ever since the popularity of Nordic shows has increased on Netflix, the platform has been heavily investing in Swedish stories. Announcing its new titles, Jenny Stjernströmer Björk, Netflix’s VP of content in Nordics, said in a statement:
“We are both thrilled and proud of the fantastic shows we announced today at Next on Netflix. Our members can expect a wonderful mix of films, series, non-fiction, and other great stories from the Nordics.''
After her breakthrough role in The Åre Murders, Sehn will return as Amanda and will explore the complicated world of dating and modern dating apps.
While these apps are the go-to for finding instant love among the younger generation, the show will explore the durability of that instant love. It will take a plunge into the messy dating lives of the youth through Amanda's character, who can be seen swiping left and right on these apps, in hopes of finding her true love.
