Episode 8 of Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 3 doesn’t just move the story forward, it explodes it. With Voit’s mind playing tricks, a traitor hiding in plain sight, and one of the BAU’s own almost dying, this episode has it all. And just when it feels like it can’t get more intense, a wedding proposal leaves everyone emotional.

Let’s talk about Voit. Once the terrifying Sicarious, he’s now suffering from amnesia, and that’s thrown everything off. He’s no longer the cold-blooded killer the team has tracked for years. Why? Because something in his brain has flipped, empathy has kicked in, suppressing his psychopathic instincts in Criminal Minds: Evolution.

But his old network? Yeah, they’re not happy. They want their old leader back.

A new villain, calling himself “Voit’s Disciple,” has stepped in. He believes the Voit we see now isn’t the real Voit. To bring back Sicarious, he’s targeting the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), orchestrating attacks and manipulating from behind the scenes.

Evan and Rebecca’s aftermath in Criminal Minds: Evolution

The last episode (episode 7) of Criminal Minds: Evolution ended with a bang, literally. Tara, Rebecca, and Evan were ambushed in a parking garage by a masked gunman. What followed was chaos.

Tara was shot twice in the abdomen. As she bled out, she entered a strange, dream-like state. There, she spoke to her late mother, trying to make sense of her own life, fears, and future. It was raw, emotional, and deeply personal.

Evan got off with a shoulder wound. Rebecca was physically fine but emotionally devastated. When the team visited, she could barely speak, and Evan seemed just a little too helpful.

Everyone processes trauma differently. Rebecca shut down. Tara was stuck in a limbo between life and death. Evan became her rock, but that raised more than a few eyebrows.

Tyler, the newest member of the BAU, picked up on something off. Evan seemed familiar to the shooter. Why would the attacker aim to injure Evan instead of killing him?

The bullets from the crime scene had hearts engraved on them, a weird but important clue. Voit recognized this signature; it belonged to a former associate nicknamed “Mr. Lonely Heart.”

Turns out Evan was the district attorney who helped put that killer away. Coincidence? Tyler doesn’t think so.

Using DNA from the shooter’s mask, Tyler finds a match: Evan. Everyone is shocked. But as the pieces come together, it starts to feel a little too convenient.

Turns out, Evan wasn’t the mastermind; he was the perfect distraction in Criminal Minds: Evolution. The real Disciple set him up to throw the BAU off track.

Who’s the real traitor in Criminal Minds: Evolution?

Rossie drops a bombshell in Criminal Minds: Evolution. The Disciple knows way too much about Voit, his past, his memory loss, and even the exact trigger needed to bring back his dark side. This has to be someone close.

Dr. Chao has been helping Voit medically, and while nothing screams “villain,” it’s suspicious how much she knows. Is she the Disciple? Or is the real traitor still hiding in Criminal Minds: Evolution?

There’s another layer here. Years ago, Voit killed Maria Jones, a case that ended up launching Rebecca’s career. At the time, another man, Sylvio Errera, falsely confessed due to threats and pressure.

The BAU later cleared him. But this forgotten case may be the key to everything. It connects Voit, Rebecca, and Tara.

When Jeff Darcy, Voit’s lawyer, ends up dead, it’s clear he had discovered something that could break the whole thing wide open.

After two weeks in recovery, Tara returns to the BAU. She’s still healing physically, but mentally? She’s crystal clear.

Surrounded by her team, she turns to Rebecca and proposes. It’s heartfelt and surprising, especially after the emotional journey she’s just had. In a world filled with darkness, this moment of love is a breath of fresh air.

Even with this touching moment, the danger hasn’t passed. The Disciple is still out there. And Voit’s journey is far from over.

The team knows the showdown is coming. With all the clues pointing inward, someone they trust might be the biggest threat of all.
