Episode 4 of Confidence Queen brought the perfect ending to a deceptive and opportunist art critic, who preyed on the talents of vulnerable students to earn money. Besides bringing Mr. Famous/Myung-han down, the episode also gave us a little peek at Yi-rang’s traumatic past.
Furthermore, Bo-ra revealed all the information about how Myung-han operated by keeping students like her captive and making them paint day in and day out. Therefore, with Yi-rang's new and elaborate plan, the trio begins to work toward conning money from Myung-han and destroying his reputation.

Confidence Queen Episode 4 recap: The trio successfully steals information from Myung-han
In the previous episode of Confidence Queen, Myung-han/Mr. Famous makes Mr. Kim, who made the fake painting, get arrested. Later, Myung-han questions Gu-ho about whether he knows about Mr. Kim, and when he lies about not knowing him, he is also given the invitation to the VIP gala event.
The trio then plans to steal the list of all of his VIP clients, and we are taken back to the party that was shown at the beginning of Episode 3. Gu-ho successfully copies all the information in his phone. Through the data collected, they find out about Myung-han keeping young, talented art students like Bo-ra captive, forcing them to paint, and also giving them narcotics.
The trio also finds footage of him misbehaving with Bo-ra, which angers Gu-ho.
Confidence Queen Episode 4 recap: Bo-ra reveals her story to Gu-ho
As Gu-ho meets Bo-ra, she shares her experience with Mr. Famous. She reveals to Gu-ho that Mr. Famous tricks vulnerable students like her by promising to allow them to display their paintings in his Gallery’s exhibition. However, in reality, he keeps them in captivity, gives them drugs, and forces them to keep painting without taking a rest.
Bo-ra escaped from the hellhole, but unfortunately, her passion became a source of her trauma due to Myung-han. Yi-rang then plans her final step to bring Myung-han down, in which she also includes Bo-ra. Gu-ho then sells a painting to Myung-han, which he thinks was painted by an unknown historical painter.
Yi-rang buys that painting and also tells him to check if there are more paintings by this unknown painter, as she wants to buy them. This takes Myung-han to James, now disguised as an old man, who claims to be a relative of the unknown painter.
Confidence Queen Episode 4 recap: Myung-han’s deception is made public
In Episode 4 of Confidence Queen, Myung-han tries to buy all the paintings of the unknown painter from a disguised James. However, Yi-rang and Gu-ho appear there in their disguised selves. Yi-rang, now Olivia Kim, offers James more money than Myung-han to buy all the paintings.
With going back and forth, Myung-han buys all the paintings from James, and tries to sell them in an auction. Among those paintings, one was of Bo-ra’s mother. She appears during the auction event and reveals that the woman in the painting is herself.
A while later, Bo-ra appears beside her mother and tells Myung-han that all of these paintings were made by her and not by some historical painter. Among the questions of his clients, the monitor displays footage of the young painters who are held captive by Myung-han to paint.
While Myung-han claimed that all of it was deepfake and AI, the police came and arrested him. At the end of the episode, Yi-rang is seen visiting the ghost castle that was mentioned in Myung-han’s digital files. She is followed by James, who also provides us with a flashback of James saving a young Yi-rang, revealing that James might be aware of Yi-rang’s past.
