Confidence Queen Episode 3 recap: Yi-rang and her team target a sinister art critic

In Episode 3 of Confidence Queen, Yi-rang and her gang are shown to be donning new disguises, targeting a new, wealthy, fraudulent man. James appears as the singer at a VIP party where he makes Yi-rang advance with Myung-han, an art critic, and their next target.

The episode showcases how Myung-han ended up becoming their target and whether they will be able to con the fraudulent and malevolent man, who preys on vulnerable women. Furthermore, the episode also hints at Myung-han being connected to Yi-rang’s past, a thread that is yet to be revealed.

Confidence Queen Episode 3 recap: The team tries to steal from Myung-han

At the beginning of Episode 3 of Confidence Queen, Yi-rang attends a VIP auction party where James appears as the singer. As he makes Yi-rang pair with Myung-han for a dance, Gu-ho steals the latter’s wine glass to copy his fingerprint.

Later, Yi-rang, disguised as a woman named Olivia, who works for a world-renowned company called Wonderby Corporation, asks him to take her somewhere private. He takes her to his office, and as they flirt and talk, she successfully manages to send the code of his secret safe to Gu-ho.

As they go outside to get some fresh air, Gu-ho sneaks into the office and tries to find any valuable documents in the safe. However, after seeing light in his dark office, Myung-han quickly sends his security and grabs Yi-rang’s wrist, hinting at his suspicions about her.


Confidence Queen Episode 3 recap: Gu-ho convinces James to con Myung-han

Episode 3 of Confidence Queen then transports us three months prior, when Gu-ho receives a call from his friend Bo-ra’s mother, who asks him to visit Bo-ra once. As he goes to the apartment she lives in, he finds no one. Just then, Bo-ra is shown to be hit by a car.

While she survives, she refuses to talk to anyone. Gu-ho then goes to her apartment again and reluctantly reads her journal. There, he learns about Myung-han, also known as Mr. Famous, responsible for tricking the young art student and taking advantage of her.

While Yi-rang refuses, Gu-ho tries to convince James to make Myung-han their next target. The duo then begins stalking Myung-han by placing hidden cameras all around him. They learn that, other than being a disgusting man who exploits young women, Myung-han is also a fraud.

He buys authentic paintings at cheap rates from people by lying to them, stating that they're fake, and then sells them to his VIP clients for a huge amount of money.


Confidence Queen Episode 3 recap: Yi-rang joins them to con Myung-han

While her friends are busy following Myung-han in Episode 3 of Confidence Queen, Yi-rang gets bored and starts reading anything and everything, researching the art critic. Surprisingly, she finds a connection between the art critic and a painting that she remembers from her past.

Therefore, Yi-rang, disguised as Olivia Kim, decides to join them. She attends an auction held by Myung-han and buys some expensive paintings, after which he extends her a dinner invitation. While having dinner, Myung-han also tries to determine if she is telling the truth about being Olivia Kim from Wonderby Corporation.

After making sure of her identity, he offers her an invitation to the VIP auction party. Furthermore, the episode also depicts how the trio tries to trick the fraud critic with a fake painting with the help of their friend. While their plan succeeds and they sell him the fake painting, difficulties might just arise as they discover that Myung-han is planning to arrest their friend, who created the fake painting.
