Chelsea might leave Rick for Saxon in The White Lotus Season 3, here’s why we think so

As HBO's The White Lotus Season 3 approaches its finale, fan theories are running wild on the Internet. Initially termed slow-paced and monotonous, the anthology series' latest chapter has exceeded fans' expectations and done exceptionally well in ratings.

While everyone is speculating on how the show will end and who will die this season, one wild theory that has come under our radar involves Chelsea and Saxon. We believe that the penultimate episode hinted that Chelsea will leave Rick and end up with Saxon in the finale.

While the sunshine girl Chelsea is no match for the wild party Ratliff boy, their connection in the previous episode hinted at their eventual union. Even after sleeping with Chloe and satiating his lust, Saxon is attracted to and fascinated by Chelsea, which hints that this might be more than lust for him.

In addition, Rick's constant dismissal and ill-treatment of Chelsea might finally make her realise that she deserves better.

Chelsea was ill-treated by Rick throughout The White Lotus Season 3

While Chelsea is the sweetest character in the anthology series, she fails to see that her relationship with Rick is not ideal. She is a romantic at heart and believes Rick to be her spiritual soulmate, but the man has done nothing to return her affection and instead had an ulterior motive for coming to Thailand.

Rick attaining peace in the penultimate episode, after his confrontation with Jim Hollinger is suggestive of the character finally achieving his actual potential. His relationship with Chelsea has always seemed like a second priority, and she might realize this in the finale.

Another key scene in the penultimate episode that could imply Chelsea might choose Saxon is when they're in meditation. After Saxon asks her to enlighten him, she guides him through a session, during which Saxon touches her hand, and she feels a connection, maybe?

While she refuses to accept it, her instant dismissal is suggestive otherwise. Since Chelsea would never cheat, she might end things with Rick and give Saxon a chance.

Saxon might be heading towards a redemption arc in The White Lotus Season 3

Saxon Ratliff, the wealthy white and nepobaby this season, reminiscent of Shane from Season 1 and Cameron in Season 2, shocked everyone in The White Lotus Season 3's penultimate episode.

While Saxon was included in everybody's list of the 'most hated characters this season,' White Lotus might break the stereotypes established in the previous seasons and give the character a redemption arc. The party boy confronted his father in the penultimate episode, and it was unexpected to see him admit that he has been in his father's shadow all his life. In a crucial scene, he says:

“I don’t have anything else but this. I don’t have any interests, I don’t have any hobbies. If I’m not a success, then I’m nothing. And I can’t handle being nothing. I’ve put my whole life into this basket—into your basket, Dad.''

While Saxon is also an entitled brat like Shane from Season 1, him owning up to his faults hints that the character might be heading up for redemption in The White Lotus Season 3 finale. In addition, he admits that he can be better and had a moment with Chelsea, hinting at their eventual chemistry.
