Fox's Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 saw an explosive finale where Jason and his team were assigned to a high-profile kidnapping case.

While the team initially believed that the kidnapping was somehow related to a politician, the motive was something else entirely.

In addition to the case of the finale, Jason had internal conflicts with Wayne because he purposefully kept her away from the MPU job, creating problems in their relationship. However, Wayne is called in to help on the case and is also offered a job, confirming her entry into the team.

Just as things were right with her and Jason again, she gets a mysterious text from someone asking her if she has access to the team and she replies positively.

The Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale ended with Wayne's mystery, as it was hinted that she might have ulterior motives for joining the team, considering she was so adamant about the issue.

Here's the Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale recap.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale: Jason gets on a high-profile kidnapping case

Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale begins with a girl walking in front of Jason's car, covered in blood. After Jason calls MPU for backup, they find the girl's car crashed in a nearby alley. While the limo driver is shot dead, the team learns that the car was heading to a school prom and the other kids were kidnapped.

Some sleuthing reveals that one of the kids, Chase, is a high-profile case as his mother is a politician, and it soon becomes apparent that he was the main target.

MPU begins looking into Chase's mother, and they learn about a mysterious man who created a scene in her office some days ago. However, they learn he was at a protest during the kidnapping.

After this dead-end, the team learns that Chase was supposed to go to the prom with Jane but the couple had a fight before the event. While Jane was still at the prom, the kidnappers had kidnapped the wrong girl, thinking it was Jane.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale: How did Jason and his team solve the kidnapping case?

Tensions were building high in the Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale, and the team learns that Chase used to sell drugs at his old school, which is why he was enrolled in a different one.

While Jane and Chase's mother confirms that he was no longer involved in that shady business, MPU still follows this lead and questions Chase's drug supplier.

However, they learn that the supplier is actually a lawyer. Both Chase and Jane had evidence against a local plant owner, whose chemicals were affecting the water supply at their school. The kids were concerned that the water was affecting the health of the students.

MPU finally got a lead with this in the Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale and they learn that the plant owner had sent his men to kidnap Chase and Jane, but they got the wrong girl.

Meanwhile, the kidnappers sent a text message to Jane from Chase's phone, asking her to meet. While this was a trap laid to kidnap her too, the MPU was able to catch the bad guys and evacuate the school before anything happened.

Both Chase and his new date were saved, and the bad guys were caught in the Alert: Missing Persons Unit Season 3 finale.
