Found, the missing persons drama landed on Netflix on January 2, 2026. Now, fans can dive in or catch up on the whole story, even though NBC pulled the plug after just two seasons.
Found first showed up on NBC back in October 2023. Now, all 35 episodes are streaming on Netflix. Warner Bros. Television’s series, which first aired on NBC and then streamed on Peacock, is already making waves. In only a few days, the show shot up to number seven on Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 chart. Not bad for a procedural drama that got canceled back in May 2025.
Why did NBC cancel Found?

On May 9, 2025, NBC shocked many fans with its choice to cancel the show, Found, given that the show was performing very well initially. At the time of its release, in October 2023, Found was the most viewed series on Peacock, with a record-breaking 10.5 million viewers on all platforms in the first week. The first episode on its own was watched by more than 20 million people in the first month, and the other Season 1 episodes averaged 7.4 million viewers after seven days of viewing.
The series, however, had a major problem with the second season. Although renewed in November 2023 to have a 22-episode second season, Found saw a sharp annual ratings drop over the 2024-25 season. In its second season, episodes made an average of 6.2 million viewers and a 1.1 rating within the important 18-49 adult demographic 35 days following viewing on all platforms.
These dwindling figures, together with the strategic decision by NBC to support 180 hours of primetime basketball programming under a huge deal of NBCUniversal worth 2.5 billion a year with the NBA, finally contributed to the cancellation of the show, along with other shows such as The Irrational, Suits LA, Night Court, and Lopez vs Lopez.
Industry reports also note that the series was shopped to a variety of probable acquirers after the show was canceled, among them Netflix. The series was not initially acquired to shoot a third season. The production company of the show, Warner Bros. Television, tried to establish another home for the show, and the shopping process ended in July 2025 without any renewal promise from a network or any streaming service.
Now, it finally aired on Netflix. As Found is already gaining momentum in the Top 10 lists of the service, there have been rumors of whether the streaming giant would consider the renewal of the series for Season 3. Netflix has successfully revived network programs that have been canceled by their producers.
Manifest, a show canceled by NBC after three seasons, was a colossal success on Netflix and was later revived by the streamer in a fourth and final season. The same thing happens to the Netflix continuations of Fox’s Lucifer and Lifetime’s You.
And provided that Found maintains its high performance in the United States and around the world, the relations between Netflix, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television could potentially lead to revival discussions. Nevertheless, as of January 2026, the announcement of the renewal has not been made.
What is Found about?

Found addresses the dark truth that in the United States, the reported number of individuals who are missing is over 600,000 annually. Among them, more than half of the cases are those about people of color who are frequently disregarded by the system. The show stars Gabi Mosely, a public relations expert and a crisis management executive who had been abducted and imprisoned for more than a year at the age of 16 at the hands of a man called Sir, played by the actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
Two decades after her traumatic experience, Gabi owns Mosely and Associates, a Washington D.C.-based agency, which doubles as a PR agency and a private investigation agency. Her team focuses on the lost individuals who have been neglected or forgotten, including people of color, sex workers, the homeless, undocumented immigrants, and other marginalized groups, whose disappearance does not receive the attention of the media or law enforcement services.
The series was renewed for Season 2, which aired on October 3, 2024, and concluded on May 15, 2025, when NBC canceled the show and left several of the main storylines unresolved. The situation escalated when Sir got out of captivity, revealing the secret of Gabi and putting her team in the position of dealing with the consequences of her decision.
The season tracks Gabi as she tries to gain back the trust, but is secretly on a mission to hunt Sir, who recaptures Lacey. It raises the question of whether or not Gabi is morally compromised in her vigilante justice, despite still assisting in finding missing individuals.
Even when numerous cases are closed per week, the larger arc does not have a designed end. Nevertheless, the series provides 35 episodes of captivating drama regarding missing people in marginalized societies.
