Actor Charlie Sheen's daughter has clarified her relationship with her father. In a TikTok video shared by Sami Sheen on April 15, 2025, she explained her estrangement from her father. Sheen was two years old when her mother, actress Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen finalised their divorce in 2006. While the timeline of Charlie and Sami's rocky relationship is unclear, the former revealed in her TikTok that she hasn't "spoken" to her "dad in a year."

According to E! News, Sami brought up Charlie Sheen's viral 2011 interview with 20/20's Andrea Canning. She reportedly mouthed Charlie's words when asked about substances in the house,

“If there are, you better find them and give them to me immediately. No, there are not. Not that I know about. If I know about ‘em, I’ll find ‘em and throw ‘em away. It’s not a big deal. Ooh, dr*gs in the house! Ah, we’re all gonna die!”

Sami didn't shy from using the clip to re-emphasise her decision to cut off ties with her father. She captioned the TikTok as,

"Pretty much sums it up."

Sami Sheen explains estrangement from father Charlie Sheen by talking about the 2011 viral interview

Sami Sheen reportedly took to her TikTok to speak about her relationship with her father, Charlie Sheen, to address her fans' questions. Sami had previously appeared on the Casual Chaos Podcast on April 14, 2025. She told host Gia Guidice that she hadn't spoken to her father on text since "6 months." She explained,

“He was working on his own stuff and pretty busy, so we weren't even that close anymore."

She added,

“But then I really got frustrated because it was when I got my nose surgery. I was really mad that he couldn't even call me or anything to see if I made it out of surgery.”

Sami also revealed the impact on her "mental health" of being the "older sister" amid the "constant fighting." She explained that she would often be "blamed," and after a point, it became very difficult for her to be in the same house.

This is not the first time Sami has shed light on her relationship with Charlie. On her April 1 appearance in Denise Richards & Wild Things, she reportedly drew boundaries on meeting her father for lunch. She noted,

“I would literally do anything else than go to lunch with my father.”

In another part of the episode, Dennis Richards noted that she "understands" her daughter's decision and noted that Charlie Sheen is likely to "miss out" on their experiences. While Sami has previously revealed her relationship with the Two And A Half Men alum has improved from before, she continues to keep a distance from him.

Public battles with substance abuse and marital difficulties with Dennis Richards put Charlie Sheen's private life into the spotlight. Over the years, his eldest daughter, Sami Sheen, has spoken about their rocky relationship and her decision to remain disconnected from him. Sami appears to share a close relationship with her mother and is often spotted filming with her.

While Charlie Sheen shares a tumultuous relationship with Sami, Dennis has slowly worked around her relationship with him. In a February 2025 interview with People Magazine, she said he is always "invited to holiday dinners."
